Analyze the Thriving Sectors of the Industry
Because it is still a growing field there are only a selected few types of modeling categories matches with this. Those are editorials, catalog, online and print marketing, and advertising/promoting specialty brands and designs. Some areas, such as runway are very strict and might not engage such models, although times are changing and there is a possibility in the near future for expansion in runway modeling.

Knowing the sectors that engage with plus-size modeling eases your entry into the modeling field. For example, if you are interested in certain clothing lines such as Lingerie, Swimsuits and want to be involved in an online or print marketing campaign by a good brand in this line, you can create a portfolio that attracts such clients or state your preferences to a modeling agency.

Test Yourself
Although there are certain industry standards (Height above 170cm and size UK10-16), there is no fixed requirement and there are variations of sizes that are accepted, especially in commercial modeling. As such a potential aspiring model may be unsure of her predicament.

If you find that you are camera friendly, photogenic and enjoy posing in front of the camera, but you are uncertain about trying out modeling, get a few of your family and/or close friends and take a few test shots or photos. Studio quality isn't necessary, as long as the photos are clear and you are the only one in the photos it's alright. Try out a few different poses, body and head shots. Get comments from your family and friends and make a good judgment of yourself. If you are slightly braver, send those photos into a few modeling agencies and look out for their response.

Practice Various Different Poses
The reality of being curvy is that not all poses can be effectively done with. However, there are some poses that go as well as sauvignon blanc with salmon. Check out such simple model poses that will get your look striking with every photograph.

Toning Exercises
Everyone hates a slab of extra fat that makes you look unappealing. Even for plus sized models that a certain expectation of a tight and well-toned body. So target areas that bulge out awkwardly (especially in the stomach region) and work out on toning that area with specific exercises that focus on that muscular group or region.

Confidence
Whoever says plus size is not beautiful clearly isn't someone too bright who think for themselves and has bought into the commercial idea of thin is beautiful. That is a narrow-minded thought process that is not going to do any good, because some of us are born this way, and will ride this way. I mean, c'mon, who is going to deny that the fashion goddess Marilyn Monroe is not beautiful because she was curvy?

Having said that, never ever lose faith and confidence in your body and physique.
