Who Will You Choose To FOLLOW?

By Richard Brody

Many members of organizations, find it challenging to determine, which of those in positions of leadership, should they choose, to FOLLOW, because they are worthy, and effectively contribute, something, which will make a significant difference, for the better, both immediately, as well as in the longer - term! While many proclaim, they will be the producer of change, unless/ until, they do something, which will do so, in a relevant, sustainable manner, and will endeavor, to do something, meaningful, for the better, they probably aren't worth following! With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly examine, consider, discuss, and review, who you should choose, to FOLLOW, using the mnemonic approach.

1, Face facts; fruition; future; foresight: Avoid anyone who proceeds, merely with rose - colored, glasses, and buries, his head, in the sand! Rather, follow someone, who faces the facts, with a positive, can - do, attitude, and is willing, and able, to bring his plans, to fruition. Be certain, these concepts consider the future, in a sustainable manner, rather than merely, puts a band - aid, on a serious wound, and the individual, possesses the foresight, and inner fortitude, to proceed, with persistence, when lesser individuals, stop doing so!

2. Options; opportunities; opinions: There's nearly always, more than one way, to proceed! Seek leaders, who examine options and alternatives, with an open - mind, and without prejudgment! We need leaders, who are prepared to take advantage of the best opportunities, or capable of making their own opportunity! Beware of anyone, who merely resorts to rhetoric, rather than being willing, to step forward, and clearly articulate his opinions, and reasoning/ rationale!

3. Listen: Great leaders prioritize proceeding, consistently, with effective listening, in order to better understand, and appreciate, constituents needs, priorities, goals, and perceptions.

4. Learn effectively: Quality listening must translate to a willingness, to effectively learn, and become better, and more relevant, from every conversation, and/ or experience!

5. Originality; open - minded: True leaders proceed, in certain, unique ways, in order to demonstrate, meaningful, relevant, originality, while consistently proceeding, in an open - minded, manner! Only then, do individuals, transform from being potential, to actual, quality leaders!

6. Willingness; What to do?; why: Those worthy of being followed, proceed, with the willingness, and inner - strength, to become better, and more relevant and sustainable! Each individual must learn, and have the self - confidence, to know, what to do, and why he wishes to achieve, specific objectives!

Groups would benefit, if they had leaders, who were worthy, of following! Who will you choose, to FOLLOW?

Kecemburuan semacam ini

Jacey melemparkan cangkir kopi kaca, (Mug Kaca Berinsulasi Dinding Ganda Zwilling), melintasi dapur.

Thirteenth step

My grandmother attends the church basement on Tuesday evenings. I saw him there among the metal folding chairs and antique coffee pots, his figure trembling under the fluorescent lights that buzzed like dying insects. She wears the same powder blue pullover she was buried in, the one with pearl buttons that catch the light like little moons. Others can't see it, of course. They just feel a sudden chill as they pass by where she is, or smell the ghostly smell of her Shalimar perfume mixing with the smell of burnt coffee that never leaves these rooms. But I see clearly. He's been following me to AA meetings for three months since I got my first white chip after five years of being back in the bottle. "Your grandmother was my godmother in 1985," old Pete told me after tonight's meeting, hands shaking as he poured a seven-pack of Sweet'n Low into his coffee. "Toughest godmother I ever had. She saved my life." "Mine, too," I said, not specif...
