Why Leaders Need FRESH Ideas

The emphasis placed on the significance of changing, is an essential component of any leader's mindset and tool - kit! Unfortunately, many pseudo - leaders, misinterpret this, to mean, Change - for - change - sake, while a true leader recognizes the difference between making relevant changes, and merely articulating empty rhetoric and promises! In order to effectively implement responsible, much - needed change, quality leaders must be ready, willing, and able, to proceed, with an open - mind, willing to consider options and alternatives, instead of merely remaining within the limits of one's comfort zone, with the same - old, same - old, ways! With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly examine, consider and review, using the mnemonic method, what it means, and why, if one hopes to be a relevant, sustainable leader, he must think, outside - the - box, with FRESH ideas.

1. Face facts; furnish; future: Adopting fresh ideas and approaches, does not mean, one should ignore reality, nor, simply do something differently, in a haphazard way! Rather, it must begin with the willingness and ability to realistically face the facts, in order to have a starting point, and position himself, to be able to properly influence, the group, and stakeholders, he serves and represents. It is incumbent upon a real leader, to furnish the level of ideas, which motivate and inspire, and address the perceptions, goals, needs and priorities, which are most relevant and sustainable. Measure the quality of one's leadership, by how it positions the organization, for the future!

2. Relevant; reasoning: Leading must be relevant, or it becomes insignificant and inefficient! One's reasoning must be focused, goals - oriented, and serve the best interests, of the organization, and constituents!

3. Empathy; energy; emphasis: True leaders begin their process, by effectively listening, and learning, from every conversation and experience, so they might exhibit genuine empathy! When this is the procedure, and emphasis, he will consistently proceed, with the level of energy, which inspires and motivates others, to be more involved and committed. How might stakeholders rate the level and focus of your emphasis, and how it might, best serve and represent?

4. Sustainable solutions; strengthens: Shouldn't the duty and responsibility of every leader, be to strengthen, his organization and stakeholders? When one fully considers the current needs and obstacles, in terms of the longer - term necessities, he becomes ready, to perceive and conceive of, create, develop, and implement the best possible, sustainable solutions!

5. Healing; head/ heart: Inspirational leadership emphasizes healing, and bringing people together, for the common good! Only when one motivates and inspires, those he serves and represents, in a relevant way, and considers fresh ideas, and approaches, using both his logical and emotional components, with a head/ heart balance, does he make a meaningful difference, for the better!

If you want to lead, in a meaningful, relevant way, you must be ready, willing, and able, to consider FRESH ideas, with an open - mind! Will you commit to this process and discipline?
