Night Time Believer

Ever wonder what's going on when it seems like you are out of favor with everyone and everything, when it feels like life is always nighttime? Every wrong turn has been preparing you for your destiny; you are being groomed for your comeback! The caterpillar, a simple worm consigned to an existence of crawling surely must feel like they were created to do so much more than crawling through life. Yet they may miss the opportunity as they are encased in a cocoon, hanging lonely and helplessly upside down. For them it also must feel like nighttime lasts forever. And then one day the cocoon falls away and they spring forth into a brand new existence where everyone is amazed at their beauty and grace. And so it is with the human.

Big things happen in the nighttime of life. We are forced to work in humility as we are preparing for greatness, for in the absence of humility there can be no greatness. We build character in the trenches of life as we are forced to overcome obstacles that may seem beneath who we are, solving problems we thought we knew the answers to. Yet in that darkness everything gets more complicated. We are forced to b discerning as our assets are dwindling. Worse, we are forced to face and defeat fear when we have so few choices before us. In the uncanny habit of life, once we crumple the paper tiger of fear many more opportunities are revealed. We have passed the biggest test in character building!

Victories are hard-fought and won in the darker times of life. We learn to magnify them when they are precious; this ushers in the next important lesson. What we focus on is magnified, what is magnified grows. The deep roots of success are planted in those hard-won victories. These lessons are transformational, leading us to the path of personal greatness.

This time is akin to sleeping in life, where all of our energy is committed to healing and growing stronger. When we are in our own personal cocoon we can only imagine what could be. It is a place where we can finally acknowledge that a bigger hand than our own must guide us through our hopes to achieve our dreams. Big things shift in the nighttime of life. When you are in the throes of the nighttime you are simply waiting on the night shift to show up and complete the transformation. It is the prelude to becoming the best we can be. All that is required is that you become a nighttime believer!
