Happiness: A Way Of Thinking?

The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. In fact, there is only one way to happiness. That is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.

Happiness isn't about what we have, or who we are, or where we are, or what we are doing that makes us happy or unhappy. It is what we think about. It is the art of never holding in our mind the memory of any unpleasant thing that has passed. We can attain this when we cease worrying about the things which are beyond the power of our will.

Happy people plan actions than plan results. Success is not the key to happiness but the other way around because happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always doubt the fact that the present and the future are better than the past. Happiness is not merely in terms of accumulating of money but depends upon in the joy of achievement and in the pleasure of creative effort.

It's been my experience that you can always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will. It's a matter of positive mindset. Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. Very little is needed to live a happy life. It depends upon your way of thinking.

The greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions and not upon our circumstances.Happiness is something that comes into our lives through doors we don't even remember leaving open. Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn't stop to enjoy it. Just because it didn't last forever, doesn't mean it wasn't worth your while. Everything is worth trying for; the end-result is no longer in our hands. The happiest people in the world are those who feel absolutely terrific about themselves.

In fact, optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you. Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections. Shallow people failed to enjoy happiness because they prefer to complain rather than to appreciate. Acknowledging everything as blessings even in the worst situations can have a positive effect on people; making them see beyond what is seen.

This article speaks about what makes an individual happy or unhappy. Happiness is a matter of mindset; a choice.
