The Return of Rania's Laughter

The Return of Rania's Laughter

The first day at the new school. Rania felt scared, her sleep was not good all night. Once every two hours he awoke, glancing at the wall clock. Seeing that the morning hadn't come, she tried to sleep again, forcing her eyes to close. He didn't want to get sleepy on his first day.

After finishing preparing, Rania immediately went to the kitchen for breakfast. A plate of fried rice and a cow's eye egg were served on the table. Complete with a glass of milk.

"Rania okay?" asked Mama.
"Rania is fine Ma" Rania tried to hide her anxiety.
Mama was silent watching Rania. Mama knew Rania was anxious.

Since receiving the news that Rania and her family are going to move. Rania looked gloomy. Never once has Rania been seen laughing since then. The sadness of losing a friend makes Rania not cheerful anymore.

"You will definitely make good friends like in your old school" Mama encouraged.
Rania just smiled faintly.

Rania started eating breakfast but her stomach felt stiff as if she didn't want to be filled, her throat was also reluctant to swallow so anxiously. In the end, only two mouthfuls of rice and half a glass of milk he was able to eat. He immediately set off for school.

At school, Rania stood in front of the classroom. Mrs. Master introduced Rania.
"Children, today you guys made new friends. Her name is Rania. Rania greets your friends" said Mrs. Master.
"Hi, my name is Rania" Rania said with a smile. Rania looked very nervous.
"Rania, now you can sit on the empty bench over there" Mrs. Master pointed to the back stool.
"Yes, ma'am" Rania nodded.
Rania walked towards her bench. He felt very awkward because all pairs of eyes were looking at him.
Rania sat alone without friends next to her.

"The kids take out your books. We start today's lesson," said Mrs. Guru.

Rania opened the book and followed the lesson as usual. He looked at the friends around him. Looks unfamiliar. Those faces looked arrogant and less friendly. It seems impossible to find a good friend here. Rania bowed listlessly, she was sad to remember her old school friends.

Rania is indeed a quiet child, she is difficult to get along with. Fear and shame often haunt him whenever he is close to a new person.

The rest period begins. Rania just fell silent on her stool as she lowered her head. Some of his friends had been out of class to play. No one invited Rania to play, maybe they were also embarrassed to start a friendship because Rania kept bowing her head. Until a child came to Rania.

"Hi" the boy said.
Rania looked up looking at that face. The first impression Rania got was, the child is beautiful, wearing a good hairpin, it looks like a rich man's child. Rania was made by him. He lowered his head again.

"My name is Manda. Want to play with me?" the child invited.
Rania looked at him again. Manda smiled.

"Come on" invited Manda.
Looking at Rania who was still barking. Manda then pulled Rania's hand. Manda introduces Rania to her friends.

"Rania introduces this to Citra, Anya, and Ivanka", said Manda.
"Hi" Rania said nervously.
Then they shook hands with each other introducing themselves.
It turned out that they were good children. Unlike what Rania thought before. And Manda is a very kind and friendly child.
There is another Dodo, a very cute fat boy. He likes to play charades.

"Guys I have guesses" Dodo said excitedly.
"Melon, what famous melon?" said Dodo.

The other friends looked at each other in confusion, trying to find answers. Seeing his friends smiling in confusion. Dodo was excited.
"Surely no one knows, right?" said Dodo with a laugh. "The famous melon is.... Melonkundang. Hahaha" Dodo laughed. Making the other friends laugh too. The atmosphere is always festive with the presence of Dodo.

Unlike what Rania had in mind, it turned out that making new friends was very easy. He just needs to open up, no need to be embarrassed to start. At first everything felt foreign, because Rania still didn't know them. After getting to know, everything feels good. They started playing, telling stories and laughing together. Rania is no longer sad. It's okay if he has to lose his old friends. Now he has made a new friend who is also very good.

Rania's laughter was back, she could live her days at school happily.
