The Georgia Aquarium: located at downtown Atlanta, near the Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium is the largest in the world and the home to more than 500 species sea creatures from all over the world. This magical aquarium has a capacity of more than 10 million gallons of both fresh and marine water, and it is one of the few places in the world that one must see.
The Atlanta History center: the Atlanta History Center displays the rich and iconic history and heritage of the great city. It is located at the heart of the Historic Buckhead, and hosts award-winning exhibitions, lectures, history programs, and annual festivals. The center is the home to the Atlanta History museum, which is one of the largest museums in the country.
The Center of Puppetry Arts: this institution is one of the most intriguing places to be. It focuses on educating, enlightening and entertaining children and adults using the ancient art called puppetry. The Center is located in the heart of the City's in Midtown, and it is among the few puppet museums in the world. One of the reasons you should check it out.
The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site: this site was created to pay tribute and celebrate the iconic civil rights leader; Martin Luther King Jr. it was established in 1980, and it is the home to several buildings that had a large impact in the life of the iconic leader. The center spreads for about 35 acres, and is one cool place to see if you ever find yourself in Atlanta.
The Museum of Design: this museum is one that does its best to enlighten and educate its viewers to understand and appreciate design. It is located at peach tree street in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The park once served as a baseball field and a football field, but it is now the getaway space where the citizens of the city can relax and refresh.
The Michael C. Carlos Museum: this art museum features one of the largest ancient art collections in the southeast. It is located in the Historic District of the main campus of the Emory University in a building designed by the famous architect Michal Graves. It has over 16,000 collection of ancient objects and pieces from all over the world.
The High Museum of Art: a museum with more than 14,000 collections of art is one you should not miss out on. The High Museum of Art is located in the Peachtree Street, and houses a collection of 19th and 20th century of art all over the world.
Murphy's: located in the Virginia Highland neighborhood, this restaurant has been one of the favorites of the locals for more than three decades. Check it out, it is one of the best dining spots in the district.
