Making More Time
While it is true that we can't actually create more hours in the day, we can give ourselves more time with the choices we make. Is there something you routinely do that takes up more of your time than you want it to? Is there an alternative that will give you that time back? Just one choice can shift your time around so that you can use it for something else. But we're not talking about just postponing sleep for another hour or waking up an hour earlier. Sleep is important for good health and you should NOT use sleep as the "make more time" option. We're talking about that thing you do that takes one hour every day, every week, or every two weeks that you CAN change.
Do you watch T.V. for one hour or more each night? What if you cut that down or out completely for a couple nights per week?
Do you take care of all the chores around the house? What if you delegated a couple of them (because everyone in the house should take care of the house)?
Do take your car to the car wash every two weeks or go to the dry cleaners every week? What if there was an app or service that could do that for you (without a crazy price hike)?
The first step to "making more time" is identifying your schedule and your routines. Once you've written all that down, you can no analyze each aspect of your day or week to see if there is a task that can be made more efficient or even removed all together. Once you have that, you can now take back that time and use it for something that matters more to you.
The Possibilities are Endless
What would you do with an extra hour? It may not seem like much but an extra hour, consistently, every day or every week, can open up a plethora of opportunities. These are just some of the great many things you can do with an extra hour every day or week (or even two weeks):
Take a yoga or other fitness class.
Learn a new hobby. Did you ever want to learn to knit?
Learn a musical instrument.
Read a book.
Start a vegetable garden.
Meet up with friends for coffee.
Do your own yard work (this will save you the money you'd pay gardeners).
Take an art class.
Finally work on that home improvement project you've been putting off.
Meet up with your husband or wife for lunch.
Plan a weekly family outing.
Learn a new language.
Take a hike with your dog.
