Sometimes someone will dangle something in front of you that you think is the thing you are supposed to do, you might do that thing, maybe with reluctance because you think God sent it in. But clearly understand that if you are not passionate about that, it won't work no matter if you drive yourself to it and say I'm going to make this work, eventually either you leave or God separates it from you.
Sometimes God will send you in even if you don't care for what you are doing until the time that He needed you there is fulfilled. Always remember that God is in control, He is the one who gives and takes away.
The silence though is the hardest just waiting on Him and not knowing what to do is spiritual anguish. You may ask, why has God abandoned me and not heard my pleas for help or why did God leave me in this situation, don't I follow Him, love and worship Him? But still silence and the waiting gets harder and harder.
Do you realize that God is strengthening you for your next assignment? He is making you ready for what He has prepared for you.
Now Jesus ' time on earth was short and throughout his ministry He would have continuous prayer conversations with His Father always feeling His presence within Him but when Jesus went to the cross and he obeyed God all the way to his death, hanging there on the cross, He cried out to His Father, "Father why have you abandoned me?" His plan was bigger than we could know. So it with you. When you feel that there is no hope, you feel as though God has left you in a lurch and you can't see forward or a way out just remember that He is silent working out the highest and best good for you.
As followers of Christ we can't expect our lives to be without troubles, as God molds you to be like Him remember you are chosen for greater things and opportunities in which God will ask you to step up for glorifying the Kingdom of God, in small and big ways. Rest assure, God has not abandoned you He is making a way.
Proverbs 8:34
Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
