Making Time - Who's Got Time for That?

This past few weeks have been absolutely hectic. I just haven't had the time to get anything really done! You know those periods, when you are running around like a headless chook and it seems like you are not getting anywhere, the proverbial hamster on a wheel.

Talk about not living what you damn well preach! Everyone gets caught up in it, regardless of who you are and it's something that you need to be constantly on the lookout for!

So I stopped myself last night. I realized that I hadn't actually taken stock of what I was doing for a couple of weeks and inevitably found myself as busy as a beaver rather than taking the actions that will give me the results that I am after.

Woe is me!

So back to the drawing board I went - Insomnia does have some side benefits every once in a while. On a nice and quiet night (let's not get bogged down with how you start trying to find the meaning of life in a rice cracker after practically no sleep for 3 days, that's just par for the course), I sat down and planned the following day - which would begin in about 2 hours!

4AM Wake Up.

Well, not so much wake up in my case but rather stop thinking about the night and move onto the actions for the day. After a couple of hits of caffeine, straight onto working on a piece of artwork that is almost complete. A nice spiritual piece depicting Zeus / Apollo / God / Yahweh... take your pick.

5:30 AM

Get showered and dressed, ready to spend a full day in a meeting room full of stuffed shirts, teaching them about the benefits of creativity, positivity and goal oriented action to achieving their dreams. Hopefully there's at least one person in the group with slightly higher aspirations than just getting ahead in their 'career'.

6:00 AM

Get all my camera equipment ready to rock and roll. Must not leave it behind as I have a photoshoot for a new cafïżœ / wine bar that is opening this afternoon.

7:00AM - 4:00PM

Spend the time with the above mentioned suits. Remember to take some time out during the day somewhere, to begin writing a new article for EzineArticles.com and my own blog that popped into my head last night regarding making time when there is no time.

4:30PM - 8:00PM

Photoshoot new cafïżœ / wine bar opening. Must include shots of their menu items and freshly made food as well as coverage of their first wine night. Hopefully I get some coffee during my stay!

9:00PM - 1AM

Get home, unpack equipment and begin uploading all images onto computer, ready to begin the process of editing all the shots for the cafïżœ.

Walk past Zeus and realise that there's a few tweaks that need to be made to finalise the image.

Move onto next canvas which is sitting there staring me in the face. A surrealistic piece featuring wine glasses, water, fruit, a lady and an elephant - amongst other things. Finish putting the color palette together for this. Can't help myself, must put some paint down on it.

Remember the article that somehow I actually put together miraculously. Reread it, cross out a few things whilst muttering under my breath - 'what the hell was I thinking' - numerous times. Finish polishing it up and upload it.

1:00 AM - 1:30AM

Stop and smell the roses. Take a deep breath and relax time for a little bit. I must remember to put my action plan together for tomorrow but like a glorious day, the lovely lady that is sleep is actually calling my name. I might just get lucky and get a few hours in my own version of la-la land tonight.

So to all of you I bid a fond goodnight, blessed sleep and a rested mind.

Remember, there's always time to make time for the things that matter in your life. Don't let the trivialities of earning a living take you off the path of achieving your goals and dreams. It takes work to get it but it won't feel like you're working at all and best of all - you'll be loving life!

My crazy world has included successfully combining all the skills of a artist, photographer, designer, programmer, and marketer into one crazy life.

Lived through countless failures, waded through a myriad of coal and once in a while, found the proverbial diamond.

I teach others how to achieve and sometimes even get them started on the right path!
I constantly amaze myself with just how little I know about the world at large which has the benefit of keeping me curious, if a little destructive at times!

I'm available for guest blogging, article writing, speaking events, weddings, market stalls... pretty much anything you can think of!

Kecemburuan semacam ini

Jacey melemparkan cangkir kopi kaca, (Mug Kaca Berinsulasi Dinding Ganda Zwilling), melintasi dapur.

Thirteenth step

My grandmother attends the church basement on Tuesday evenings. I saw him there among the metal folding chairs and antique coffee pots, his figure trembling under the fluorescent lights that buzzed like dying insects. She wears the same powder blue pullover she was buried in, the one with pearl buttons that catch the light like little moons. Others can't see it, of course. They just feel a sudden chill as they pass by where she is, or smell the ghostly smell of her Shalimar perfume mixing with the smell of burnt coffee that never leaves these rooms. But I see clearly. He's been following me to AA meetings for three months since I got my first white chip after five years of being back in the bottle. "Your grandmother was my godmother in 1985," old Pete told me after tonight's meeting, hands shaking as he poured a seven-pack of Sweet'n Low into his coffee. "Toughest godmother I ever had. She saved my life." "Mine, too," I said, not specif...
