Mindfulness Explained

MINDFULNESS...
In this short Whisper I would like to give you some explanations of what mindfulness is and the powerful benefits it offers to your life.

Mindfulness is an incredible mental tool to help people understand, tolerate, and deal with their emotions in healthy ways.

It helps you to alter your habitual responses by taking pause and choosing how you act.

When you are mindful, you experience your life as you live it. You experience the world directly through your five senses.

You taste the food you are eating. You recognize the thoughts you are having. You notice what is happening around you. You hear your own voice and words. You recognize your own aliveness.

You learn how your minds work, and you are better able to label the thoughts and feelings you are having, instead of allowing them to overpower you and dictate your behavior.

Because mindfulness presents an effective method to get to know oneself, to reduce stress, and to live in the present moment, cultivating mindfulness is a powerful practice you should focus your attention on as much as possible.

Here are some explanations of this powerful state of mind.

Mindfulness...
... is the state of being entirely focused on the present moment. You acknowledge feelings, thoughts, and outside stimuli but they don't control you because your awareness allows you to control them.

... involves acceptance, meaning you pay attention to your thoughts and feelings without judging them. You only observe them.

... is a kind of nonjudgmental, present-centered awareness in which each thought, feeling, or sensation that arises in your attention field is acknowledged and accepted as it is.

... is a process of gaining insight into the nature of one's mind from a conscious nonjudgemental perspective.

... is a clear and single minded awareness of what actually happens TO you and IN you during your day.

... is the practice of maintaining a nonjudgemental state of heightened or complete awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences on a moment-to-moment basis.

... is your basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where you are and what you're doing, and not be overly reactive or overwhelmed or judgemental about what's going on around you at the present time.

Reading these short explanations about mindfulness has allowed you to powerfully add to your mindset today and expanded your wisdom.

Your mind is your garden of life.

Seeds have been planted. Water them often.
