Relationships :Punjabi Men and Tamil Girls Unions

By Madan G Singh

Tamil girls, Punjabi men: The best thing for India

As a subaltern, I had the privilege of being posted in the Tamil Nadu state. To be precise, I was posted at the Air Force Station at Tambaram and the unit was Air Force flying Instructors School (AFIS). It was a baptism which I have never forgotten. To start by virtue of being a member of an elite service. I was immediately given the membership of the Madras Gymkhana., one of the premier clubs in India established by the 'Goraji' during the days of the Raj.

Getting into this elite Institute was like the opening Ali Baba's cave, it gives us the magical key to social intercourse with the elite of the city of Madras, the name Chennai came much later. I was not new to the state of Tamil Nadu as I have had my early education at the Stanes High School at Coimbatore. Later as Squadron leader, I had the privilege of attending the Defence Services Staff College in the Nilgiri mountains at Wellington close to the hill station of put Ootacammand.

Relationships

I observed another major social more, my flight commander and the CO of AFIS had both married Tamil girls. Later I came to know they were Brahmins. Obviously, they were very happy. This was my first brush with the social interaction where I observed that many Tamil girls were marrying North Indian Punjabi men or boys. This phenomenon is not confined to the film world, wherein right from the time of Vyjayanthimala to Sridevi, not forgetting Hema Malini have married Punjabi men. One can say that there is some fetish for Tamil girls and Punjabi men. During almost two decades of my service in the Air Force, I have the distinction of observing this singular aspect where many officers had married Tamil girls. I will add that as far as the Airforce is concerned an equal number have married girls from Meghalaya, which has the Eastern Air Command, at Shillong

Talking about personal experience, I had the fortune or being introduced to some of the top echelon society girls. My facilitator was a local Tamil friend of mine who had studied with me at the Stanes High school and was now a fairly big merchant involved in export-import in Madras. It is not important to take any name but I can add that this was the most relaxing time of my life. I had a senior colleague a Flying Officer and he confided that he was going to marry Tamil girl brahmin. I accepted to be his witness at the court marriage which subsequently took place. The girl's parents were against the match but later relented and give a big reception to their guests and relations. Now that so many decades have passed, I have been wondering as to what could be the reason that so many girls from Tamilnadu who come in contact with Punjabi men end up being their wives. Basically, I feel this is a good thing and a sign that such unions help the so-called north-south language divide to weaken. I think this an excellent recipe for national integration. I hope in the years to come, the question as to which state or which caste you belong to will go away. India would be one big Cauldron like the USA.

Mutual attraction

Just as Tamil girls are attracted to Punjabi men, so also North Indian Punjabis have a fascination for Tamil girls. There is a big language divide but this is overcome by the natural attraction that exists between these two classes in India. I wonder If sociologists can study this aspect of the relationships in India. As already mentioned there are also a lot of young Khasi girls from Meghalaya who marry Air Force personnel while in the army Naga girls marry many army officers. Most of these marriages endure and that is the best part of this entire scenario. My personal memories have been the subject of many of my stories which have been published abroad and in India, I will just say that there seems to be a mutual attraction between Tamil girls and Punjabi men. Why should it be there is a question that is not worth answering and one can only say India has a nation has to move forward. Closer home my nephew just had a love marriage with a Tamil girl who a student from the IIT at Madras.

This is just a light heart article, and I hope many will read it with an open mind.

Communication :Re-Listen to Others: You Need This New Skill

By Rick Goodfriend

Re-learning to listen is a new and somewhat difficult choice for you yet this re-listening idea will be offering benefits for better communication and trust. Just reading this article will bring this re-listening idea stronger into your consciousness. It is super powerful that we all need to re-learn. It is the power of empathy. One of the powers to learn more of what people are wanting.

In short it is a question to the speaker and then guessing a value or quality. That is it. A simple question like 'Are you wanting more honesty?'or 'Understanding is what you are wanting?

What a change in the other person as trust and understanding are built between both people. It is that simple. A question and a cherished value of another. YOU are just guessing this quality. It is great to be correct yet you don't need to be.It is always a guess. They may say no it isn't understanding it is financial stability. They may answer the question in that way.

Yet it is important to make this guess and not ask them what they are wanting. This is important to make your guess with integrity. Take a stab at a guess even if you think it is wrong. Just do it. I teach people to look at a values list and guess a value, yet just one guess.

These values are very powerful so one will do. Guessing too many values at one time is mind boggling. Asking if somebody wants warmth, understanding, stimulation and honesty is just too many qualities in one question. Ask just one quality and you will be more successful at offering empathy.

If someone tells you I was sick last week you may ask " Are you enjoying the healing?' So simple to give this question. Just one simple question again to offer understanding and this special way to connect.

If someone is saying they need more money for a car you may ask, "Are you wanting financial security?" Try this guess and see what type of reply you receive. It is a wake up call for both of you for understanding this other person. Take this re-learning to listen, seriously.

You can do it to yourself. Just make a statement and empathize with a question and value, It is a simple re-training of something you learned to do in childhood. It is time for your re-training to make your relationships more connecting and valuable.

Multicultural :"My Journey With Maya" BookReviews

By Laura M Schroeder

Maya Angelou has now passed but her memory lives on through those who knew her and share their stories. Tavis Smiley met Maya in 1986 at the age of 21. For his job, he was asked to deliver a letter to her from the Mayor. That chance encounter led to 28 years of mentoring.

Maya permitted Tavis to ask tough questions and challenged him to think deeper. Somehow she was always right but was gracious in her responses and gave room to let things go.

The only issue she would never back down on was use of the "n" word and profanity. She was able to impart how our choice of words affect how we are seen and the impact it can have on our futures.

Tavis' journey began with an invitation from one of Maya's lady friends to join them on a trip to Africa and they provided the resources to make it happen. That trip changed his life.

Maya followed his career and lovingly encouraged him throughout nearly thirty years. When she disagreed or thought something could be done differently, they would have intelligent debate. Sometimes, it was after a period of time went by that he would remember something she said and contemplate how he could grow from it.

She shared stories of other well-known people who had crossed her path. She never judged others but was able to make them better people just by speaking to them. She also listened before she spoke. When she did speak, she had their attention.

I was so inspired by the stories Tavis shared, I wish I could be like her. Yet, she would tell me to just be the best "me" I could be. She genuinely built people up no matter the paths they chose.

Although Maya was a hero to African citizens and African-Americans, her wisdom is such that we can each aspire to reflect. There are probably treasures like her in every cultural group. I would like to see more of this kind of mentoring cross all boundaries. Kindness and wisdom unite race, religion, education or financial stations.

The wise person will grow from their mistakes, make correction, let others see a difference in them and develop others to be the best they can be. I am not known to the world and have never traveled abroad. I hope I made a difference to someone and when I get to Heaven get to meet people I didn't even know who share stories of how we intertwined.

This was a good read. I finished it just in time for sweet dreams. Have a blessed night.

Music :Dylan Fans Could Follow An Idea Verdi Lovers Have Made To Honor Their Favorite Composer

By Doug Poe

Composer Guissepe Verdi, even though he has been dead for over a hundred years, was the subject of an engaging article in a recent issue of The New York Times. Avid fans of Verdi have honored him through a group called Il Club dei, whose members assemble at various times near a statue of Verdi in Manhatten.

Instead of being referred to by their real names, each member is assigned an alias from the title of a Verdi opera. Thus, Il Club dei includes a Luisa Miller, a Falstaff, and a Vespri Siciliani.

Membership is limited to 27, which reflects the number of operas written by Verdi, but there are a great number of people on the waiting list. Only when an existing passes can the first person on the waiting list gain official induction, so it is a slow process.

Enthusiasts of a more modern genre of music could start a similar club, only they might limit they might extend the maximum membership to two and a half times that of Il Club dei. This group of 61 would bond over a love for the music of Bob Dylan, whose most famous record is Highway 61 Revisited.

Just as those who are part of Il Club dei just assume the name of a Verdi opera, the 61 folks selected for what might be called Zimmy Zealots would take on monikers after Dylan titles. Such an assignment should prove quite easy, given that Dylan has penned over 500 songs.

Here are fifteen recommendations for use among the 61 prospective members.

Jokerman

Religious overtones are characteristic of Bob's lyrics, especially on this epic from Infidels.

John Wesley Harding

Serving as the title track for an album showing that once again, Dylan had moved on a different musical direction, it recalls the Pretty Boy Floyd of folk idol Woody Guthrie.

Queen Jane Approximately

It may not be a person being referred to in this gem from Highway 61 Revisited, but it would still be more than suitable for a female member of this club.

Absolutely Sweet Marie

When someone asks her where are you tonight, Sweet Marie could answer that she was attending the meeting of the Zimmy Zealots.

Father of Night

New Morning is, odd!y enough, where this track can be found.

Tiny Montgomery

Part of the immortal tunes recorded with the Band on The Basement Tapes, this name should be given to the biggest member of the proposed organization.

Neighborhood Bully

Whichever member attempts to dominate the gatherings gets this title, spawning from the Infidels record.

Arthur McBride

This cover version appeared on Good As I Been To You, setting off somewhat of a Dylan revival in the Nineties.

Diamond Joe

If there happens to be a gambler among the 61 members, he gets this pseudonym.

Sad Eyed Lady of the Low Lands

She who gets assigned this title should be a blonde, considering the album the song closes.

Mr. Tambourine Man

Although he would not necessarily being the instrument with him, this guy should be followed in the jingle jangle morning.

Quinn the Eskimo

When this mighty member arrives to the meeting, all the members are going to run to him.

The Wicked Messenger

He who is designed the task of announcing the deaths of any among the 61 might likely be referred to as this tune from John Wesley Harding.

Lenny Bruce

Bob recognized the controversial comedian on this ode from Shot of Love, which might suit the funniest among the congregation.

Silvio

Down in the Groove is the home for this classic, which could work with any member of the Double Zees.

Travel :11 Things to Carry on Your Next Trip to Kolli Hills

By Abinaya Shree Kannan

Packing your suitcase for your trip can be tricky. The first things you will do after planning a trip is to book a good hotel in Kolli Hills.

Once you are done with hotel bookings and all the other travel arrangements, the next bugging question is what to pack for the trip. This is crucial because over packing is always an issue while traveling to any hill stations. You need to pack right to have the best vacation experience.

To make your trip smooth, we have come up with the 11 most essential things to carry on your next trip to Kolli Hills.

1. Warm Clothes

Whenever you travel to any hill station, warm clothes are a must. The climate is cold all around the year in Kolli Hills. So, before planning a trip, take the weather into account. Choose clothes that keep you warm and comfortable.

To avoid frostbites keep yourselves fully covered at all times. Our body temperature goes down at high altitude, so take it into account while packing. Do pack a couple of scarves, sweaters, scarves, beanies, mufflers and leg warmers. These add style to your looks as well as keep you warm.

2. Medicines

Whenever you travel to Kolli Hills, do carry a first aid kit with you. With extreme temperatures and rocky terrain, you need to be extra-cautious with your health. The first-aid kit comes handy in emergency situations.

Prepare a first aid box that holds all basic essentials like band-aids, allergy creams, wet tissues, cotton, and medications. If you have allergic reactions to anything, pack the necessary medicines.

You may not get the required medicines in a remote location like Kolli Hills. Moreover, the medical kit won't occupy much space in your travel bag.

3. Shoes & Socks

A trip to Kolli Hills involves long walks and exciting adventurous activities like mountain climbing, hiking, etc. Make sure to pack your most comfortable pair of shoes and socks. This is mainly to keep you warm and to avoid blisters and sore feet.

Pack mountain boots if you plan to go for trekking in Kolli Hills. If it's just for walking, opt for thick shoes. A Pair of woolen socks will keep your feet warm during the night time. Wearing the right shoes protects you from slipping.

4. Skin Care

Extreme climate leads to drying of skin. The moisturizers, body lotions and lip balms keep the moisture of your skin intact. In hill stations like Kolli Hills, the direct sun rays cause damage to your skin.

Lip balms prevent dryness and cracking of lips. Use moisturizers that have a rich quality of soy milk, honey, cocoa and Shea butter. There is a common misconception that sunscreen is not required in hill stations like Kolli Hills. On the opposite, a good quality sunscreen lotion reduces skin tanning and burning.

5. Flashlight

One thing that is easily forgotten in a trip is a flashlight. Kolli Hills (all hill stations) is subjected to power cuts and some may have dimmed street lights. If you are exploring attractions past sunset, it is wise to carry a pair of torch lights.

Most of our mobile phones have an inbuilt flashlight, but the battery may run out of battery anytime. So, it is better to be safe than sorry. Do pack a flashlight. It can save you some day.

6. Toiletry Bag

Pack a basic toiletry bag that carries soaps, shampoos, dental and personal hygiene products. You cannot search for a shop in the midst of the trip that sells your favorite brand product. Packing required toiletries are also economical as it avoids the need to buy new things.

Instead of carrying all essential in big bottles and packets, use ziplock bags and old lens cases to carry them in required proportions. This reduces more space usage in your traveling bags. Also, use plastic wraps to avoid spillage of creams and lotions inside your luggage.

7. Sunglasses

Polarized sunglasses protect your eyes from the haze and the blaze of the sun. Even in hill stations like Kolli Hills, the direct sun rays can be dangerous to your eyes, which induce dizziness and headache.

If you are planning for a hiking in the mountain trails, then sunglasses are a must. You can enjoy the beauty of Kolli Hills better. It also protects your eyes from minute dust particles. So sunglasses are very important whenever you plan a trip to Kolli Hills.

8. Umbrella

The climate in the Kolli Hills is unforeseeable. You cannot predict when there will be sunshine or shower. You may get stuck in one place because of sudden rain or hail. So, it is necessary to carry an umbrella to protect you from the different mood of Kolli Hills.

Pack folding umbrella that is easy to carry and also takes less space in your suitcase. If you try to buy umbrellas at any tourist destination, it will definitely be twice the original rate. So carry your own umbrella to avoid traveler scams.

9. Camera

The best part of Kolli Hills is capturing a glance of the beautiful scenery. Bring your camera with you to turn that perfect beauty into a lifelong memory. The quality and resolution of pictures taken by the camera are matchless to the ones taken by smartphones.

You can relive your best moments in Kolli Hills by seeing the pictures taken and it is something which cannot be replaced by anything. Also, pack a portable power bank, extra pair of batteries and memory card for your camera.

10. Eatables

Always pack some eatables like biscuits, candies, and wafers that will come handy if you long for a quick bite or get stuck in a remote place. This also saves your day if you travel with small children who are always hungry.

You can carry a bag of trail mix (A Trail mix is a mix of dried nuts, fruits, chocolates and graham crackers) which can be taken as snacks in the midst of mountain climbing and hiking. Also, there will be no need to cook during camping or searching for restaurants at odd hours in Kolli Hills.

11. Extra Bag

Always carry a few extra bags (clothe and jute bags) which will come handy in tricky situations. You can pack dirty clothes in these bags and prevent it from mixing with unused clothes. You can save space by rolling the used clothes in a bundle and then packing it.

The extra bags also serve another purpose. You can carry the souvenirs and other items that you have bought from the local street shops. As you cannot pack everything within the suitcase you have brought to Kolli Hills. Also, carry few newspapers to wrap fragile goods.

These are the essential things that every vacationer needs to pack when traveling to Kolli Hills.

If you plan to visit some of the best places in Kolli Hills, do book the best   resort in Kolli Hills from Ulo Hotels.

Health :22 Veteran Suicides a Day - Mission 22 Cutting Edge Programs for PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury

By Peter Finkle

[Our] goal is not to medicate and mask the problems our veterans are facing but to heal them. Mission 22

This bold mission attracted me to Mission 22 when I first heard about the group.

More veterans die by suicide each year than...

More veterans die by suicide each year than the total of U.S. military deaths in the entire Iraq war and Afghanistan war combined! This is scary. It's shocking. It's unacceptable.

Mission 22 started when a friend that co-founder Magnus Johnson served with took his own life. Magnus learned that 22 veterans a day were taking their lives and this shocked him into action. His friend and fellow former Green Beret Mike Kissel joined with him to found Mission 22. They started with a large-scale public art project in Nashville, Indiana as a way for veterans and civilians to work together to raise awareness of veteran suicides.

A National Monument

Then they asked themselves the question: If there is a national monument honoring those who died in almost every war fought for our country, why couldn't there be a monument to those veterans who have lost the fight after coming home by taking their own lives?

Thus was born the moving large-scale monument shown in the photo above. Mission 22 says: "We honored 20 veterans who lost their lives here at home after serving our country abroad."

Their mission has grown to include multiple ways for veterans, their families and communities to find help. Most dramatic to me are the cutting edge healing programs that are giving remarkable results. Before we look at the healing programs in more detail, let's take a look at the national problem.

Veteran and Civilian Suicides

Veterans end their own lives at a rate much higher than civilians. Among men, the risk for suicide in 2014 was 19% higher for Veterans compared with U.S. civilian adult men. And for women, the risk for suicide in 2014 was 250% higher among Veterans than U.S. civilian adult women!

The Veterans Administration is putting more resources into trying to prevent suicides, with an expanded suicide hotline and increased mental health counseling. Still millions of Veterans either do not visit a VA facility or are not adequately helped when they do. Thus the need for Mission 22 and caring groups like them.

The rate of Veteran suicides is greatest among the youngest Veterans ages 18 - 29. This is true for both male and female Veterans. However, the total number of Veteran suicides is still much larger among older Veterans, simply because there are so many more older than younger Veterans. So help is needed among all Veterans age groups.

Mission 22 Treatment Programs

Mission 22 currently has two treatment programs that focus on Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress. The goal is not to medicate and mask the problems our veterans are facing but to heal them. Mission 22 website

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

According to Mission 22: "More than 350 Veterans have reclaimed their lives" by using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in conjunction with other modalities like nutrition and medical massage.

HBOT treatment enhances the body's own healing process. People inhale 100% oxygen in a total body chamber, where the oxygen level and atmospheric pressure can be controlled for safety. HBOT has been helpful as a post-concussion treatment for football players and other athletes. The similarity with brain injuries suffered by Veterans led to the Mission 22 program.

The FDA has approved HBOT for a variety of conditions, though not yet for traumatic brain injury. However, Mission 22 has seen such good results that the group covers the cost for Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress or brain injury to go through the HBOT treatment program.

A clinical study published in the Journal of Neurotrauma in 2012 demonstrated significant benefits of HBOT for both physical and emotional issues in a group of 16 Veterans with brain injuries.* HBOT is known to help by decreasing inflammation and increasing blood flow to the brain, but there is still much more to learn about how it works.

Full Spectrum Health Center

The other cutting edge program Mission 22 uses involves bringing balance back to the body, emotions and mind. Working with the Full Spectrum Health Center in Chicago, Veterans can be treated at home wherever they live in the country. Based on evaluation and advanced blood testing, an individual treatment plan is developed for each Veteran to heal imbalances in their bodies and lives.

The goal of the Full Spectrum Health Center is powerful. The clinic states: "Full Spectrum Health Center for Endobiogenic medicine (FSH) uses a new approach to heal soldiers and veterans from the inside out."

"Our approach is to understand who you are and why you suffer with specific symptoms. Using the most sophisticated form of personalized medicine: Endobiogeny, our goal is to heal you, your relationships with yourself, your family, and your community. Our approach is based on balancing and optimizing the four keys to health: Body (hormones, nerves, brain, digestion), Mind (spirituality: a journey to inner wholeness), Diet (nutrition for your body's needs), Lifestyle (stress reduction, sleep, exercise)."

The Full Spectrum Health program includes plant-based therapies, pharmaceuticals if needed temporarily to help patients stabilize, self-integration work to gain more control of thoughts, feelings and actions, and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy.

Conclusion

Mission 22 was founded by Veterans to reduce the tragedy of Veteran suicides. They started with an emphasis on education and now coordinate their efforts with multiple groups around the country.

Mission 22 helps cover the cost for these two healing programs that help Veterans with post traumatic stress or traumatic brain injury rebuild their lives, so they are accepting donations to fund Veterans who want to go through these two programs.

ArtsandEntertainment :What First-Timers in a Nightclub Should Know

By Karina Popa

For every one of us, there might be a first time to enter a nightclub. Most people may have heard many stories, as well as seen the hype, and now they are ready to witness it directly.

However, before they go past the ropes, these are some tips to consider:

Q: What advice can be given to first time club goes to get inside faster and to take full advantage of their first experience at a nightclub?

A: The best thing to do is pay for a VIP table. In doing so, their first time experience will linger longer in their memory than an alcohol sticker shock. They should remember, though, to come early, bring their ID and have fun with every wow factor offered by the local venues.

Q: What additional pointers can other give them in terms of etiquette when standing in line outside the club and inside as well?

A: They should always be polite to have good relations with the staff. They should not request for anything that is not legal. Otherwise, they will be removed from the club.

Q: Will the saying "money talks" work in a nightclub? Will a tip offered to the staff or security help them get in faster?

Honestly, it will not let them go too far. For faster entry, getting table service is a more effective strategy. Or else, they should plan ahead to get themselves on the guest list.

Q: To get on the list, will it be best to speak with a promoter/club host first or talk directly to the club? How will this work?

A: Speaking with the club promoter/host is the best thing to do to make sure they will be taken care of. It will be easier to establish relationships, since hospitality is what motivates people. A promoter will get these first timers on the list and even help in getting their table set up. They will have a VIP host all through the night and to assist them the whole weekend.

Q: What should club goers expect during celebrity-hosted nights? Will they expect fans to be there for the red carpet? Do celebrities mix with the crowd?

A: During celebrity hosted nights, an ideal spot on the dance floor will let them fully view the night's events. The red carpet can be too fast that it might be over without realizing what the flashes are all about. Many people say that celebrities seldom mix with the crowd, but some have seen it happen. Perhaps it really depends on their mood.

Q: What are the regulations when it comes to taking pictures/videos inside nightclubs?

A: GoPro's and large camera equipment are usually not allowed. Anyway, smart phones, nowadays, are capable of taking good quality pictures to share on social media, and are acceptable at all venues.

Once you become a nightclub expert, you can now hit the venues in the right way. The above mentioned tips will let you have the best time ever.

Do you need help planning a bachelorette party Vegas? Would you like to be on a Las Vegas nightclub guest list? Come and visit our website to learn more about our services!

Casino :Craps Proposition Bets: Here Are Eight Wagers to Avoid When Playing This Table Game

By Dennis J Occhino

Look at any craps table and you'll see numerous wagers where some appear to have hefty payouts. These are One Roll wagers. None of them pay off in true odds. These bets should be avoided because they can deplete your bankroll very quickly.

Seasoned players know there are thirty-six possible combinations that can be made with a pair of dice, each with numbers one through six. For example, the number 7 can be rolled six ways, such as: 6 and 1; 1 and 6; 5 and 2; 2 and 5; 4 and 3; 3 and 4. The numbers 6 and 8, five ways; numbers 5 and 9, four ways; numbers 4 and 10, three ways; 3 and 11, two ways; and the 2 and 12, one way.

With the aforementioned in mind, here are the bets that you should avoid and why, when playing:

The Field

This is a one roll wager where the player wins if a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12 appear and loses if a 5, 6, 7 or 8 appear. Payouts are even money except for the 2 or 12 which pay 2/1. A novice player would look at the field and think, "There are seven numbers to win with and only four to lose." However, if you combine all the ways the winning numbers can be rolled they will total 16. The losing numbers combinations total 20. Thus, winning numbers can appear 45% of the time but the losers come forth at 55%. The house edge is about 6%.

Any Craps

Another one roll wager that pays 7/1 if a two, three, or twelve is rolled. Add them all up and the true odds are 9/1 against. The house edge is about 11%.

Any Seven

The worst one roll wager for the player. The odds are 6/1 against and the payout is only 4/1. If you really want to make this bet, my advice to you is, don't. The house edge is about 17%.

Hardway Bets

These are the even number totals of 4, 6, 8, and 10. In our Monopoly days we knew them as doubles. Two 2's = 4, etc. In the world of craps these are known as Hardways. When a player elects to make a Hardway wager he or she is betting that particular number will only appear as an even number total, for example, a hard eight as 4 and 4. All of the other four combinations that make up the eight now become losers. The Hardway bettors now lose when a seven or any eight other than the 4 and 4 appear. The odds are 10/1 against but the payout is only 9/1. The house edge for a hard 4 or 10 is about 11%, and hard 6 or 8, about 9%.

Horn Bet

A one roll wager betting that a 2, 3, 11, or 12 will emerge. The bet must be made in multiples of four units. You will be paid 30/1 for the 2 or 12, or 15/1 for the 3 or 11, minus your three losing wagers. These numbers only have a 1/6 chance of showing up. You can also bet these numbers individually. Your best bet is no bet. The house edge is about 12.5%.

C & E (Craps and Eleven)

The C&E bet is actually a combination of the any craps (2,3,12) bet, or the 11 (AKA Yo) bet. Basically, when you bet on C and E, you are wagering that the shooter will roll any craps numbers (2, 3, or 12) or 11. If you hit any one of these numbers, you win the bet.

There's a 1 in 6 chance that the C and E bet will hit. The payouts are different for each part of the bet. If the crap numbers come up it pays 3/1. If an 11 is rolled, 7/1. the total overall house edge is 11%.

Fire Bet

Not all casinos offer this wager. The bettor(s) win if the shooter makes at least four different point numbers before a seven out is rolled. Only different point numbers count. The pay tables range from a 10/1 payout for one point made four times up to 2000/1 If all six point numbers are made four times each before a seven out. In this unlikely event the house edge is a whopping 25%!

Hop Bet

This is a one roll verbal bet that is rarely played because most bettors are unaware of it. A player may wager that the dice will hop to a certain combination on the next roll. For example: if you have a hunch that an 8 will be rolled as a 6 and 2, simply shout to the dealer, "Five dollars on hop eight as six and two". If it happens you will be paid 15/1. You may also call out a Hardway, "Hop eight at four and four". If you're lucky, you win 30/1. Any callout is permitted. All payouts are the same. This is a typical sucker bet. Depending on the hop combo called out, the house edge can range from about 5% to 12%.

Your best bet is to stick to the line wagers, pass, don't pass, come, don't come with the odds bet(s) and the place numbers 6 and 8.

Good Luck!

Health :Hysterectomy - A Case Against Female Castration

By Tiffany Blair

Are you considering getting a hysterectomy? I've had one, and it was the worst experience of my life. My goal here is to help you to understand what I went through before and after having a total abdominal hysterectomy.

Please note that I am not a physician or a surgeon, but I am a casualty of hysterectomy, and this is my attempt at helping you to not become a casualty as well.

Many- SO many surgeons will not tell you the real stuff - and so, here goes!

First, I'll let you know what was going on with my case, and how I came to be the person that I am today - due to the adverse effects of hysterectomy.

I had been fighting endometriosis and fibroids for years. My gynecologist said that a hysterectomy would solve all of my problems. Instead, my entire life has changed for the worst in every way imaginable!

The excitement of not having painful, heavy periods was incredible! What I did not know was that endometriosis can still grow outside of your uterus, so please do your homework if you are seriously considering having this life-ruining surgery done. Continue reading for my personal experience. It has been 15 years, and the nightmare is STILL ongoing. These things could likely happen to you.

1. Swollen from head to toe. My belly hurt terribly, and I looked like I was 8 months pregnant. They give you something to wear around your belly to help the swelling go down, and you are told that, "everything will be back to normal in about 6 months." Um, nope, didn't happen.

2. It's almost impossible to walk upright for 2- 3 months. I couldn't pass urine without begging some picture on my wall to let the fountain flow- for what seemed to be forever. (I don't think that the picture answered, for which I am actually grateful.)

Now, if you just LOVE having immediate, intense hot flashes, horrific insomnia, depression, and anxiety.. then by all means - have the surgery! Do you love it when your hair falls out in extreme proportions even after the, "Oh, it's just from the shock of surgery" phase? Then yep, go for it. My hair is now at 1/4 the amount that I previously had... and people have commented. Humiliating to say the least.

3. For so many women: No matter how well you eat, or how much you exercise, the weight does not come off. What they fail to tell you is that your uterus holds all of your other organs and bones (ribs) in place. When you no longer have a uterus, your organs drop until your ribs are sitting directly on top of your hips. No more waistline! I do not know many women who would like to gain 50 lbs.

4. You may end up wearing a catheter due to urinary retention. Imagine the fun of having urine sloshing around in an odd bag strapped to your leg. Be sure to wear baggy pants at work. Ah, yes, it's a super fun time.

5. If you figure out the right bio-identical hormones, your insurance will usually not pay for them. I tried the oral pills which were covered, but didn't do any good. So, the next step was creams that are compounded. Usually a month's worth is hundreds of dollars. The creams have helped with the hot flashes and insomnia a bit, but I'll never have my body back. I'm still anxious a lot of the time... boy do I wish I had someone to tell me about all of this! NOTHING replaces the estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone like your own body. Sadly, they left one ovary in because it would, "wake up and produce the hormones as if you never had a hysterectomy." Mine never woke up, and for an even more fun experience, the ovary became riddled with endometriosis..it appeared "strange" and needed a biopsy which means another invasive surgery. They had to take the entire ovary. I went to sleep believing that I had "possible bowel and ovarian" cancer, and woke up to,

"Good news! You do not have cancer, but your organs were stuck to your pelvic wall, and some other organs. We found adhesions everywhere! So, the surgery took much longer than we had originally thought."

Adhesions is a fancy medical word for scar tissue - which coincidentally was caused from hysterectomy. The bigger problem is that the scar tissue had to be dissected to free my organs. This leads to even further scar tissue..and so on.

Now, the hormone problem is even worse. I recently paid a whopping $2,000. for a "bio-identical hormone specialist" which was supposed to cover "free office visits for a year!" He overdosed me on progesterone, caused the fun weight gain to become worse, and conveniently did not return calls since he had my money.

6. Get ready for a diminished, or non-existent sex drive, and a painfully dry vagina; devastating to say the least. For a select few (if ovaries are not removed), this is not a problem. Is it worth trying though? If you are a gambler of your life and body... well, nevermind, just say NO!

Please, please, do not get a hysterectomy unless you have cancer, and/or there is an absolute threat to your life, and there are no alternatives left.

Hysterectomy, and Oophorectomy (removal of ovaries) will ruin your life! It's not just me, there are numerous women with which I have spoken that regret having a hysterectomy. There is no way to "Put it back." Please do not go through what so many women have - just because your Doctor says so. Research everything that you can. Get a second and third, and fourth opinion. Women have committed suicide due to the consequences of having a hysterectomy!

If I had it to do over again, I would seriously never, ever even think of it as an option. I would go in to have other less-invasive surgeries many times over. Hysterectomy is a serious surgery. Please do your homework. Yes, I am begging. Do not be deceived - Hysterectomy is FEMALE CASTRATION!

Education :10 'Facts' About The Human Body That Are Completely False

By Uche Kalu

Eat your vegetables. Sleep eight hours a day. Exercise.

There are so many truisms about staying healthy that we sometimes don't use due diligence in determining if the advice given to us is even true. Then there are the old wives' tales, passed down from one generation to the next, that often disregard the difference between fact and fiction. Below, you'll find a list of 10 of the most common health clichs out there. None of them are true.

We Only Use 10 Percent Of Our Brains:

Weighing in at just over 1.4 kilograms (3 lb), the human brain is home to nearly 100 billion neurons. They transmit information to each other across gaps called synapses, of which the brain has almost one quadrillion.

The brain is sectioned into three primary parts-the cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the brain stem. The cerebrum composes roughly 85 percent of the organ and is responsible for much of the higher-level functioning we associate with being human. Seated below it, you'll find the cerebellum, which controls basic coordination and balance. And finally, you have the brain stem. Connected to your spinal cord, the brain stem controls most of your automatic functions, such as breathing and digestion.

Wouldn't it be incredible if all this processing is only making use of 10 percent of the brain's bandwidth?

Alas, this "fact" is utterly wrong. We're not sure where the claim that we only use 10 percent of our brains came from, but it seemed to percolate out of the late Victorian era. In the late 1890s, Harvard psychologists William James and Boris Sidis used the latter's wunderkind (his IQ was nearly 300) as proof that all humans must have the capacity to be that smart. We just have to try harder.

Pretty ridiculous, right?

Further research at the start of the 20th century found that rats with cerebral damage could be retaught certain tasks. This was used to bolster the already weak case that our human brain is full of untapped potential. Alas, this factoid is completely ridiculous with no basis in modern science. Just reading this paragraph uses more than 10 percent of your brain. Oh well.

It Takes Seven Years To Digest A Piece Of Gum:

After swallowing a particularly large piece of bubblegum, many of you may remember being horrified to hear that your digestive tract would spend the next seven years trying to digest it. If your seven years isn't up yet, you may be relieved to learn that this "fact" is complete nonsense.

Although the origins of this myth are elusive, it has borne out a relative truth about chewing gum. It's indigestible. The Food and Drug Administration defines gum as a "nonnutritive masticatory substance." (Translation: It's not food.)

While it's not advisable to swallow your chewing gum, what happens to it isn't all that exciting. Excess ingredients like sweeteners may be digested, but the bulk of the gum is an elastomer that gets moved through your digestive tract without being broken down. Then the gum comes out the other end via the excretory system and is usually unscathed.

Foreign, inedible objects have to be roughly larger than a United States quarter to get stuck in your digestive system. Otherwise, they flow like junk down a stream, right out the other end.

Chocolate Will Make Your Skin Break Out:

As if puberty, high school, and those teenage years aren't hard enough, many of us grew up learning that our chocolate intake had a causal relationship with breakouts. Pretty awful that chocolate, the one thing that makes adolescence bearable, lights up your face with ugly zits.

Well, we're here to let you know that this old wives' tale is false. Eating chocolate will not cause you to break out. However, eating foods high in fat and sugar can increase your body's natural sebum production, which makes your skin oilier. Furthermore, those unhealthy foods lead to higher levels of skin inflammation.

But will chocolate-or any food for that matter-make your skin break out? The answer to that is a resounding no. Eating high levels of fatty foods will definitely trip up your blood sugar, which can indirectly affect breakout levels. But no single food item is your golden ticket to avoiding teenage pimples.

Carrots Improve Eyesight:

The myth that carrots will improve your vision is wrapped up in a twisted history of wartime propaganda. To be fair, carrots are great sources of beta-carotene, an inactive retinol that is transformed into vitamin A during digestion. Vitamin A provides all sorts of benefits to the body, including the protection of eyesight.

But does it really improve one's nighttime vision?

No. The British Ministry of Information ran a campaign during World War II that suggested pilots in the Royal Air Force were eating large quantities of carrots, explaining their uncanny ability to shoot down German fighter pilots under the veil of darkness. Truth is, all the carrots in the world couldn't give you the gift of nocturnal sight.

British troops were warding off German bombers with novel technology at the time-airborne interception radar. It's unlikely that German intelligence bought into the idea that British pilots were fueled by high-octane carrots.

Yet, in the almost century since, the Western world's general public has remained firm believers that if they eat enough of the orange stuff, their eyes will thank them. We hate to be the ones to break it to you, but you're not going to have night vision anytime soon.

We Have Five Senses:

This one should be easy, right? Not so fast. The belief that we have five senses dates back to the time of Greek philosopher Aristotle, who was the first to discern the five discrete senses of the human body. You probably learned them in elementary school: sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste.

Yes, these are five of your senses. But they aren't the only ones.

Let's start with the basics. What is a "sense"? Well, it's something with a sensor that can perceive a given stimulus. Every sense is activated by a unique phenomenon.

In fact, the sense of touch is actually much more complex than just a single sensation. Many neurologists break down "touch" into divergent sensations, including perceptions of pressure, temperature, and pain.

Depending on whom you ask, humans have as many as 33 senses. These include some senses, like blood pressure and balance that you knew you had but didn't count as a "sense." So, next time someone says they have a sixth sense, you might respond by saying you have 33. They may not know what you mean by that, but you'll know!

Rolling Your Tongue Is Genetic:

Many of us can remember being taught, by a biology teacher no less, that our ability to roll our tongues was simple genetic fate. The majority of people can roll their tongues, and societal wisdom held that tongue rolling was a dominant genetic trait. If either of your parents could do it, so could you. Or so we were told.

In reality, it's not that simple. Unlike many of these human body myths, we have a good idea from where this one came. In 1940, American geneticist Alfred Sturtevant published a study which concluded that your tongue-rolling ability was a hereditary trait based on a dominant gene.

However, Sturtevant's exuberance over his finding was short-lived. People realized quickly that there were identical twins where one could roll his tongue and the other couldn't. As a result, Sturtevant's findings were swiftly debunked, with the man at the helm conceding defeat.

And yet, decades later in classrooms across the world, this falsehood is being spread anew. Now that you know the truth, you can stop the madness from spreading the next time someone unveils this quirky parlor trick.

Heat Escapes Through Your Head:

Between the myth that we only use 10 percent of our brains and the prevailing notion that we lose the majority of our body heat through our heads, it seems like our craniums can't catch a break. A prevailing hypothesis on the origin of this myth: Scientists conducted studies in the 1950s in which subjects were exposed to low temperatures and lost a solid chunk of their heat through their noggins.

The problem with this research is that the subjects were bundled up in coats and only their heads were exposed to the elements. So yes, if every part of your body is insulated and your head isn't, you'll lose a disproportionate amount of body heat through your head.

However, more recent research finds that, all else being equal, an excessive amount of heat doesn't escape from your head. You lose approximately 7 percent of your body heat through your head, which makes sense because your head is roughly 7 percent of your body's surface area.[

So, treat your head like every other part of your body. When it's cold, bundle it up and everything will be fine.

Hair And Fingernails Keep Growing After Death:

This "fact" about the human body is sort of creepy, isn't it? The idea that protein shards of keratin keep growing at our extremities in the days and weeks after we die is freaky. Well, we're here to let you know that it's simply not true.

Our bodies dehydrate rather rapidly once we die. When this happens, our skin starts wrinkling and pulls inward. This gives the illusion that our hair and nails are still growing. On the contrary, the rest of the body is merely shrinking. For this reason, morticians will often lather corpses in moisturizer to keep them from pruning up.

Cracking Knuckles Will Cause Arthritis:

Arthritis isn't a single condition but rather a catchall term for a group of pain disorders characterized by joint aches, swelling, and inflammation. Unfortunately, it's quite common, affecting more than 50 million adults and 300,000 children in the US. Arthritis can be mild or debilitating. It can flare up or feel like a slow and steady burn.

Obviously, if you can avoid activities linked to arthritis, you should. For many health-conscious individuals, this includes a seemingly simple request-don't crack your knuckles. However, we're here to tell you that cracking your knuckles doesn't make the list in your fight to prevent arthritis.

But first, what is "cracking" the knuckles? That popping sound is associated with bubbles bursting in your synovial fluid (the stuff that greases your joints). As bad as that sounds, a cross-study analysis by doctors at Harvard Medical School found no evidence that cracking one's knuckles has a causal link to arthritis.

That said, you still might want to give up the habit. Chronic knuckle cracking is linked to weaker grip strength. Furthermore, it's just annoying to listen to.

Shave Your Beard, And It'll Grow Back Darker:

Who hasn't heard this one? You can shave your beard-or for women, the hair on your legs-but your efforts will be in vain. Not only will the hair grow back, we're told, but it'll grow back faster and darker than before.

This is absolutely false. In fact, we've known this isn't true for quite some time. One of the first contemporary studies on the issue took place in 1928. The participating men all shaved in the same manner with the same brand of shaving cream. Then their subsequent new hairs were analyzed for increased rates of growth.

A lot of this myth comes down to perception. As our hair grows back, we may be influenced by our preexisting biases. Also, when you wax or shave off hair, it's like chopping down a tree and leaving the stump. You're left with slightly wider and more visible hair, contributing to perceived gains on the part of your stubble.

Alas, any changes in growth speed may be caused by underlying hormonal changes. But otherwise, it's all in your head!

Health :Psychiatric Treatment Options - Therapy Approaches For Anxiety Disorder

By Deirdre Elizabeth O'Connor-Yahia

Anxiety as a mental health issue has had much media attention of late. According to Sarah Fadar, a Social Media consultant 'If you're a human being living in 2017 and you're not anxious, there is something wrong with you.' A certain amount of anxiety is normal and healthy.

How do we know when we have tipped the balance and moved over to unhealthy levels of anxiety? Healthy anxiety drives us forward and can be harnessed to keep us engaged and motivated. It helps us to be sufficiently on task and drives us to action. Without healthy this healthy anxiety, we would be insufficiently driven. We have a natural innate ability to have the right amount of anxiety to motivate us in order to reach our goals and therefore enhance the quality of our lives. Anxiety becomes unhealthy when rather than driving us towards achieving our goals, it makes us fearful and makes us question our abilities to fulfil our goals.

Where does this unhealthy anxiety come from? It usually stems from being negatively evaluated as a child, from overbearing adults in our lives. Although we may not feel that those situations were serious, our sub-conscious minds have registered those evaluations as threatening and therefore the subconscious mind will be triggered by subsequent events in which we are being tested or judged. It can make the person become hyper-vigilant and sensitive to criticism.

This creates a lower threshold for coping with anxiety in the person. The aim is to increase the threshold Medications can dull the emotions but they cannot resolve the underlying issue. In order to truly heal our minds and return to experiencing anxiety as a helpful tool, we need to re-visit those earlier events, in a therapeutic setting. Hypnotherapy under the guidance of an experienced therapist guides the mind back to those relevant memories. It is then possible for the mind to reconstruct those memories and store them without the emotional charge. This helps the person to offload unhelpful beliefs that one accumulates about oneself, particularly in childhood. It can also allow the person to relax and to become more tolerant and comfortable in situations where they may be judged or criticised.

Anxiety is created by our perceptions of a threat, and the key to addressing anxiety to alter our perceptions of the threat. Psychiatric treatment does little to address why have unhealthy levels of anxiety. As long as we continue to mask our emotions with psychiatric drugs, we will do little to address the underlying causes.

Health :Type 2 Diabetes - Learn From Yesterday's Mistakes

By Beverleigh H Piepers

We all made mistakes; this is a fact that applies to all of us. No one is exempt. Where we differ is how we handled those mistakes, and how we now deal with the end results of those issues. Mistakes mean we took action and mostly they are reversible. They also teach us to have compassion.

The past is done, and this might make us uncomfortable. It might bring resentment because maybe now you are dealing with a health problem because of what you did or didn't do yesterday. Whatever it is, you need to forget about the choices you made yesterday. Let them go and create the best way to reverse the effects.

Stop blaming yourself. Maybe you didn't act as you should have. But this does not mean you should continue to blame yourself and have negative results. See your past errors as opportunities for progress. A chance to learn something new.

If you have now been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, it is an opportunity to correct your eating habits and improve your nutrition. There is a silver lining to receiving a diagnosis in that it can serve as a wake-up call and extend your life. How often do people all of a sudden decide to eat better for the rest of their lives? New Year's resolutions aside, most of which are unsuccessful, the answer is rarely. But with Type 2 diabetes, the best option is to make sustainable change.

If your past food choices led to you gradually raising your blood sugar level and your body weight, it does not mean they have to lead to an unhealthy future. Create your fork in the road and invest in better health.

Focus on what is more important. The present, and consequently the future, is infinitely more important than the past. How you live now will determine how well you will be tomorrow. For most situations, yesterday's mistakes have little to no effect on the future. In contrast, how you act today can have a dramatic impact - for better or for worse.

Your time is your most precious resource. Spend no more time contemplating what could have been or feeling resentful over steps you took in the past. Focus on what is actionable and has the potential to make a positive difference in your life.

Make successful decisions today. When it comes to your health, your choices become critically important. Ensure you are making wise and successful decisions. This could mean...

drinking less alcohol,

lowering your intake of carbs, and taking up

resistance training for the first time.

Lastly, in making these decisions think about what you could have done in the past, but postponed. What have you been procrastinating on? Doing this could help you overcome the negative feelings that come with dwelling on yesterday's mistakes.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

For nearly 25 years Beverleigh Piepers has searched for and found a number of secrets to help you build a healthy body. Go to http://DrugFreeType2Diabetes.com to learn about some of those secrets.

The answer isn't in the endless volumes of    available information but in yourself.

Tattoos - Your Health Is at Risk

By David Lee Brown

Abstract

The detrimental side effects of tattoos are known, but are often being ignored. Many just assume that tattooing is safe because of its popularity. Others simply fail to do their research before being injected with dies, plastics and paints. Many feel that since tattoo parlors are regulated, then the ink should be to, but that's just not true. The potential of infection with life changing infections is also present. The biggest health risk is due to heavy metal poisoning due to tattoo ink. There are things everyone should know before they are tattooed. I will endeavor to inform you of the major risks.

Risks
The risks associated with tattooing can be described as skin related diseases, end organ disease (liver, kidney, brain) and heavy metal poisoning. There are ways to avoid these effects of tattooing and I will share those with you. But first, let's look at some statistics.

According to Statistic Brain (2016),
• Americans spend a whopping 1.655 Billion dollars on tattoos annually.
• Americans that have at least one tattoo totals 45 Million people.
• The percentage of people who regret getting a tattoo is 17%.
• The percentage of Americans getting a tattoo removed is 11%.

Why are People Getting Tattoos?

These statistics are staggering numbers to me. It is surprising that this many people want to risk their health for skin art. People are motivated to get tattoos for a variety of reasons ranging from wearing art on their skin, remembering a loved one or to look sexy or dangerous. The motivation is unimportant for today's topic, but I just wanted to give you a little background.

The Dangers of Tattoo Ink Carriers

What are the dangers of tattoo ink carriers? Carriers are used to keep the ink, plastic or paint evenly distributed during application and inhibits the growth of pathogens (bacteria/viruses). Please understand that these ingredients are not regulated for use in tattooing by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) in most states.
• Ethyl Alcohol - rubbing alcohol is for use externally and should not be injected into the skin. It can cause skin drying, irritation and can negatively affect nerves.
• Glycerin - it is the sugar alcohol glycerol and can cause increased urination and diarrhea.
• Listerine - is an alcohol based concoction of menthol, methyl salicylate, thymol (from thyme oil), and eucalyptol (liquid derived from eucalyptus oil). It can cause skin irritation and localized allergic reactions.
• Propylene Glycol - is the primary ingredient in antifreeze which can be damaging to your liver and kidneys.

The Dangers of Tattoo Ink

That was just the carriers. What is in each color of ink? Many of these inks have ingredients that you shouldn't even apply to the skin, much less inject into the blood rick lower layer of skin. The epidermis is the outer layer of skin that is made up of dead skin cells and acts as a whole body bandage. It protects us from bacteria and viruses. The dermis is the living skin underneath the epidermis. Things injected into the dermis can be carried away by the bloodstream to all parts of the body. That's why we get infections when we have a cut or scrape of our skin. The protective epidermis is damaged.

What is in the ink? Most inks contain acrylic resin (plastic molecules), but they also contain other ingredients. They are listed below by color as per Helmenstine (2017) and my own research.

• Black ink - Iron oxide (rust), charcoal or carbon - this is probably the least dangerous ink. The amount of Iron oxide should be inadequate to cause iron toxicity. Ask the tattoo artist to use purified water as a carrier.
• Blue Ink - Copper, carbonite (azurite), sodium aluminum silicate (lapus lazuli), calcium copper silicate (Egyptian blue), cobalt aluminum oxides and chromium oxides. Copper can lead or contribute to heavy metal poisoning. Aluminum has been proven to attribute to Alzheimer's disease and gastrointestinal disorders.
• Brown ink - Iron oxide and iron ochre clay - this is probably as safe as black ink and for the same reasons.
• Green ink - Chromium oxide and Malachite, lead chromate and the synthetic compound Cu phthalocyanine are used and only the first two are considered moderately safe. Lead chromate is derived from lead which is toxic even in low doses. Cu phthalocyanine is an unregulated compound of copper and can cause skin irritation and respiratory irritation.
• Orange ink - Disazodiarylide and/or disazopyrazolone, and cadmium sulfate make orange ink. The first two are considered safe, but the cadmium sulfate is considered toxic and possibly cancer causing.
• Purple - Manganese violet, quinacridone and dioxazine and the first of these is considered safe. Quinacridone is an FDA approved food coloring, but has caused localized skin reactions.
• Red - Cinnabar, cadmium red, iron oxide and naphthol-AS pigment are the various components of red ink. It is considered by most to be the most toxic color of tattoo ink. Cinnabar is derived from mercury sulfate and is devastating to the nervous system. Cadmium red is a known cancer causing agent. Naphthol-AS pigment is used in red paints.
• Yellow - Cadmium sulfate, Ochre, curcuma yellow, chrome yellow and some are safe and others are not. Cadmium sulfate is derived from lead and is toxic. Yellow derived from the spice turmeric or curcuma yellow is considered safe. The problem with yellow is the volume that must be used to provide a vibrant yellow color, so local irritation of the skin often occurs.
• White - Titanium dioxide, lead white, barium sulfate and zinc oxide (the stuff you smear on your nose at the beach). Titanium dioxide has caused cancer in lab animals. Lead white is considered a cancer causing agent in humans. Barium is derived from the metal barium and is used in barium swallows for gastrointestinal tests, but when injected can cause skin irritation.
• Glow in the dark ink - made up of compounds that are toxic and in some cases radioactive. This again is unregulated in most states.

Some of these compounds can be considered safe, but testing still needs to be done. Some of these compounds are toxic and can cause heavy metal poisoning as the copper, lead, cadmium, chromium, arsenic and aluminum leach into your blood stream. Aluminum inks can also hasten the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

Some of these inks cause cancer and have known mutagenic properties (cause mutations and birth defects) per Genser (2007). The FDA should be regulating these inks, but in most states they are not. Most states have started regulating tattoo parlors though and at least that's a start.

Regulation of tattoo parlors has greatly decreased the rate of serious infection. Use of disposable needles has made the great impact. In the past, in unregulated tattoo parlors, the risk for getting hepatitis B & C, HIV, tetanus, herpes, staph and syphilis were a real threat. Regulation and disposable one-use needles have eliminated this risk (as long as the regulations are followed).

One other major concern with tattoo art is the fact that lifesaving MRI scans cannot be done in certain instances. This is because the metals in the ink cause intense burning pain for the patient. This has prompted many radiology departments to refuse to perform MRI scans on patients with tattoos, per Grenser (2007). This could cause resulting misdiagnosis or the inability to diagnose.

There are safe tattoo inks out there that are willing to divulge their tattoo formulas. There are many more that are dangerous tattoo inks that are unregulated. Many manufacturers refuse to divulge the formula as secret proprietary information. The carriers used to evenly distribute ink can also potentially be unsafe. Both the inks or carriers are not regulated by the FDA and regulation of tattoo art is the responsibility of each individual state.

Conclusion

Tattoo at your own risk. Tattoos can be safe or hazardous depending on your preparation for the tattoo. Talk to the tattoo artist. Ask them what carrier solution they use. Ask them the composition of their ink. Choose your colors by which colors are least toxic. Make sure the tattoo artist's shop has an active Health Department certificate. Ask them for their Health Department sanitation score. If you feel you must get a tattoo, please do your research and make an informed decision. I personally recommend that you don't get a tattoo. There are just too many risks for minor irritations and lingering side effects like cancer, scaring, granulomas, infection, toxicity and infections, per Mishra (2013). I don't think it's worth the risk, but it's your body. Just please study-up and make an informed decision.

Does Asexuality Impact Penis Health ?

By John Dugan

For most men, maintaining their penis health is a priority. Even if they may not take all the steps necessary to keep their penis in prime condition, they still make some effort. And although they may do so partially because of the non-sexual functions in which the penis is involved, there's little doubt that for many men, being sure that the penis is likely to function superbly in sexual situations is a major motivating factor. And that's a two-way street, because using the penis in a sexual manner helps to maintain penis health. But what about men who fall in the asexuality spectrum? Does their asexuality impact their penis health?

Asexuality

Before getting into that question, it's important to have an understanding of what asexuality is. It used to be that an asexual was considered a person who didn't have any sexual or romantic feelings toward any person, of either sex. But nowadays defining asexuality is a little more complicated.

Asexuality.org offers this definition: "An asexual is someone who does not experience sexual attraction. Unlike celibacy, which people choose, asexuality is an intrinsic part of who we are. Asexuality does not make our lives any worse or any better, we just face a different set of challenges than most sexual people. There is considerable diversity among the asexual community; each asexual person experiences things like relationships, attraction, and arousal somewhat differently."

The point about diversity is key. Some people who are asexual feel no romantic feelings about another person; others may feel romantic feelings but have no desire to act on those feelings in a sexual way.

Similarly, some people who are asexual don't have a desire for sex of any kind; others may not feel a desire for sex with other people, but they may enjoy having sex with themselves through masturbation.

Penis health

So why is there a question concerning whether male asexuality could impact penis health? Mainly because there is still a great deal of research to be done in the field of asexuality. One of the questions that needs to be considered is whether an asexual man who does not engage in masturbation may in some way be negatively impacting his penis health.

One school of thought would lean toward saying that yes, there is an impact. As most men know, there is a "use it or lose it" aspect to penis health, Meaning, for example, that a man needs to experience some degree of sexual activity (partner-based or with his own hand) in order to keep the penis in good working order. However, that typically means good working sexual order - that the penis will be more likely to perform sexually if it is exercised. If a person is not interested in sex, this would seem to be a moot point.

Of course, it's probably a good idea for the penis to function "normally" even if sex is not in the game plan; but a person with asexuality does have a normally functioning penis. He still gets erections throughout the day and night. And if he does not masturbate, his penis will still periodically release semen through nocturnal emissions. So this school of thought would believe that asexuality does not have an impact on penis health.

Whether asexuality does have an impact on penis health has not been definitively researched yet. But whatever the definition, most men could benefit from using a superior    penis health crme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). The best crmes will contain ingredients that are conducive to maintaining the health of the penis skin, such as moisturizers (like Shea butter and vitamin E) and antioxidants (such as alpha lipoic acid). A crme with vitamin A is also a good idea, as this vitamin has antibacterial properties that can help reduce unwanted and embarrassing penis odor.

Tips to Avoid Content Marketing Mistakes to Earn More Links

By Vineet Kumar Singh

A potential customer is always interested in a content he can relate to, learn from and that helps him achieve his goals. Content marketing is all about creating content that attracts a potential customer's interest in a brand. It is the most effective way to earn links. It has multiple benefits for the brand like strengthening relationships, increasing credibility and referral traffic. Companies spend a considerable amount of resources in planning and implementing their content marketing strategies, but many a time the result is not as per their expectations. Few mistakes which they need to take care of are listed below:

Clichd Content
Content that has been discussed and linked often does not offer much value. The uniqueness of the idea is the first necessity of the content. An idea that offers a different perspective and sets it apart from others is likely to succeed. A brand can conduct their own research and involve their clients and different departments to arrive at a new idea.

Compromise Quality
Many a time, companies focus all their energies on creating a large amount of content. And the quality of the content is compromised in such a scenario. Such low-quality content is not able to connect with the user at a more in-depth level and fails miserably. Quality content takes time and effort and keeps the consumer's interest foremost. This content stands a better chance to do well.

No Target Audience
So many times, companies ignore to mark their audience. No research is conducted to identify the interest of the potential customer and tend to rely on their own assumptions. The content might be awesome but is not relatable to the user and therefore fails.

No Set Objectives
A brand needs to define what is expected of its content marketing strategy. What constitutes success and what are the deadlines for a plan? Objectives to be accomplished should be stated clearly, and the entire approach should be designed around it.

Loose Promotion Strategy
If the right people are not aware of your content, they can't read it or share it. Various promotion options have to be evaluated and worked upon, and a mix of best ones should be chosen. Brands should focus on personalising it for different customer base and distributing the content through appropriate channels.

Wrong Targeted Market
Sometimes companies try to do too much at the same time. Their marketing strategies target a generic section of users instead of the ones who really need their product. Focusing their time on researching every prospect will yield better results for them. It can be done by sending personalised emails, personal messages, Twitter messages, meeting journalists who have written something about the similar product etc.

Not User-Friendly and Shareable
The content should be created keeping the promotion strategy in mind. Content that does not think of user comfort or can't be shared easily is not valuable. Multiple forms of content are important to make the content readable and interesting. Few formats like videos, animations, graphics, research, interviews, roundups and case studies make them highly shareable.

Conclusion
Why your content marketing isn't working? If you are struggling to find answers of similar questions then you must take help from a content marketing agency. They can analyse your current strategy regarding content marketing based on above-discussed mistakes and develop a perfect approach to tackle content marketing. That would be helpful in accomplishing your goals and sales targets.

Sports :If Covey Was a Triathlete With 7 Habits

By Doug Morris

Do you know what the habits of triathloning would look like if Stephen R. Covey was a triathlete?

With inspiration from his multi-million selling self-help book classic, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, there are beneficial returns of time investments by applying his business philosophy to the sport of triathloning.

#1 -- Be Proactive

Do before being directed. Assume nothing but responsibility. Make choices instead of wishes. Learn to be a triathlete.

#2 -- Begin with the End in Mind

Destination unknown is not an actual finishing line location. Commit to your end point, milestones along the journey, and skillsets needed to complete the journey. Maybe think geographical: local races, regional championships, Nationals, or maybe the end state of international racing. Maybe you think in terms of speed. Decide to go fast with a sprint distance triathlon or fastest as part of a relay leg. If you think in distances: set goals of sprint, Olympic, half, then full. Or maybe you think in terms of things like a pool, lake, then ocean or even flats, rolling/undulating landscapes or bad ass big climbs. No matter how you think, determine your end in mind. Put in writing your personalized triathlon mission in how to start including specific milestones along your journey.

#3 - Put First Things First

Swim, bike, and run competition comes after sign-ups, training, and toeing the starting line. Evaluate your "Bonds of Performance" to align with importance of training preparation activities to achieve your triathlon mission.

#4 - Think Win-Win

Racing sustainability continues because racers support their family, volunteers, race officials, sponsors, equipment suppliers, service providers, and even their toughest competition. Know the specific people who make up your support structure. Fulfillment and personal bests are wins even if you don't cross the line first. Remember, you only win if they win too!

#5 - Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood

Learn the disciplines of the sport, the tactics of the competitors, and the uniqueness of the races then let your performance and respect of the sport speak for yourself. Your metrics of your targets communicate a universal language. Expressing gratitude of others' performance when understanding the longevity of the sport is beneficial too.

#6 - Synergize

Get a coach, leverage knowledge of family, sport, and work skillsets across your personal silos. Join a team. Raise the level of all swimmers, bikers, and runners for the betterment of the sport.

#7 - Sharpen the Saw

Pursue your life's continual education in family, social, work, and sports environments. Enhance your life's performance by adopting polarity management. Be a learn-it-all triathlete, not a know-it-all participant. Acknowledge that life's graduation day is the ultimate day of reckoning.

And for a bonus, from his follow-up book, The 8th Habit:

#8 - Finding Your Voice, Inspiring others to find their voice.

Be a contributor. Be a leader, a mentor, and a triathlon ambassador so generations of learners for years to come will continue to teach the world to tri.

During your next workout, think about these eight habits and what you could adopt to improve your race results for 2018 and beyond.

Nostalgia in Games

By Justin Frantz

Nostalgia. The word brings to mind a joyous familiarity felt when engaging in something in the present that we really enjoyed doing in the past. Gaming is no different. Everyone has games that bring back memories from, what we think of now as, better times. Hindsight is a like the snob that points out what you could have done, hindsight tells us our childhood may not have been as bad as we thought. As adults we know how the world works. When we were growing up, we never really had a grip on the world. Hindsight tells us that those times were better, safer, less complicated. Games that bring on nostalgia puts us in the mindset of a kid again. It makes us feel safe, secure, and protected. Humans have a natural tendency to want safety and protection. Especially the adults, because as adults we know just how quickly the world can go from OK one day, to horrible the next. As gamers we seek safety and security in games.

I started gaming when I was very young as most gamers my age did. I grew up playing Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 with my mom and sister. Super Mario, Kirby, and Mario Cart were a few of the titles that we played. Zelda was perhaps the biggest game we played. My mom has problems with fast-moving games like Call of Duty and other highly graphic games. So we played Super Nintendo and what a time it was! Zelda on the Super Nintendo we beat many times. I say "we" but it was my mom playing not me or my sister. Even thinking about it while writing this I'm getting nostalgia. We kept getting close to the end and then the game wiping our save out so we started over like three times. It was good times. That was when I was around six or seven or eight. Long time ago. Nostalgia gives us hope for the future. It tells us that if good times happened in the past then more good times will happen in the future.

Later I started gaming on my own. It is hard to think about what game came next in chronological order but they all had a theme: single-player strategy. A broad gaming description that can fit a lot of games in it. Games like Pharaoh and Cleopatra, Age of Empires II, and of course Sid Meier's Civilization III. I was not allowed to play shooters as they had bad language in them and so was restricted to single player games. My parents were very protective and games were not as prevalent twenty years ago as they are now. Pharaoh is a city builder placing you in ancient Egypt. The goal of the game was the build great cities using the resources at your disposal and it was quite a challenge for an eleven year old. Age of Empires II is a real-time strategy game that is completely different from pharaoh. You have to balance resource collection and troop production to take down either AI or other players. Civ III was probably my favorite game growing up. To this day, I still play pharaoh and age of empires II.

Think about what nostalgia is again for just a second. It is a feeling coming from a memory. A memory of "better times" that may or may not be accurate. Games we played a long time ago, that brings back those memories, might not continue to be fun. Civ III I played for hundreds of hours when I was younger is not as fun now that I am older so I do not play it as much now. Sometimes nostalgia lies.

In conclusion, nostalgia in games is a good thing. It allows us to relive parts of our childhood that we otherwise would not have a reason to bring back up from the depths of our minds. Many people say that video games lead to anti-social behavior, violence, and a drop in school grades. Video games teach us how the world is. When you are playing multiplayer of any game you will usually find people who are just toxic. It prepares for dealing with the worst society has to throw at us. Human beings are prone to violence. The first murder happened when Cain killed Abel back in Genesis. I am pretty sure at they did not have video games back then. So this point is always going to be moot. The only point that actually makes sense is the drop in school grades. It takes a great deal of discipline to do school work over video games. It builds character this discipline. So next time you feel nostalgia coming on, take some time to stop and smell the memories. Bask in the thoughts of better times and the hope that good times are still ahead, no matter what the world tells you in the present. This is what video game nostalgia teaches us.
