Real Estate Games Can Be More Than Just Pastime

Recreation is a vital part of everyone's life. Gaming is one form in which children and adult alike can become hooked. But more than just past times, they can be used to educate.

Strategy games with some touch of real estate can be used early to teach children important aspects of the industry. There are real estate games which starts with the player owning a land. In order to prosper, the land needs to be developed. Problems soon arise with cash flowing in to the player's side giving more opportunities to buy more properties but giving more difficulties for maintaining them.

There are also games which allows you to be a property manager, a house flipper, an interior designer, a real estate tycoon, and so much more. Almost any title or job relevant to the real estate industry has a game you can engage in.

Classic Games

Do you know that there is a very classic game which can be used to train kids to develop basic grasp of real estate? That game is called Monopoly.

In this game, the players battle for property ownership. By landing on specific properties, players buy them at the game's bank and the title cards are awarded to them. As the game progresses, they can develop the properties to establish houses and hotels.

Other players who land on other player's properties need to pay rents equivalent to how many houses or hotels are established on them.

The game has other kinds of properties like railroads and utility companies. The players can also own them and collect rent to other players.

This board game is actually a strategy game too. It makes the players think carefully on whether to buy a certain property or not. There are also financial constraints like taxes, maintenance repairs, and other expenses which can affect the players' earnings.

Modern versions

This classic board game has now evolved. It can now be played on computers and gadgets. There are several versions which have slight variations on rules. Some are even made to be adaptive to certain areas like changing names of streets to those known to a certain country.

The real estate industry is a truly fascinating world. It captures not only the minds of adults but also the curiosity of children. Real estate games can be their first step towards understanding what the industry can do for them. Whether they just want to be plain homeowners or real estate tycoons, there are games to harness their skills.

A Heartfelt New Year's Resolution: Show You Care

I heard the sirens behind me before I saw the flashing lights of an ambulance, followed closely by a fire truck. Like everyone else on the roadway, I looked around trying to figure out where the ambulance was heading, and as soon as I saw the lights, eased my car over to the right side of the road. Only the ambulance wasn't traveling in the direction of traffic, the ambulance was heading for whichever side of the roadway was clear, if only for a few car-lengths - much to the surprise, no doubt, of those in the oncoming lane of traffic.

I figured it must be a truly urgent emergency for the ambulance and fire truck to be commandeering both sides of Pacific Coast Highway. Nonetheless, drivers on either side were nudging their cars onto the side, out of the way. At no time did the ambulance have to blow its horn, slow down, or do anything else to get where it needed to go.

We care. We really do. In moments of crisis, large or small, our respect for one another simply as human beings, shows up. I am reminded of a very touching video posted in the final weeks of the chaotic Presidential campaigns, which featured a woman trying to find the owner of a lost dog found wandering in a parking lot. It was an "equal opportunity" posting, in that the same situation was played out in both Trump and Clinton rallies. The woman wore a "Trump" t-shirt in the Clinton situation, and a "Clinton" t-shirt in the Trump situation. Didn't matter. People in both rallies, without exception, treated the woman with respect, and tried their very best to help her find the dog's owner. Small crisis, true, but oh-so-telling.

We care. We really do. So what if, this New Year, we made a resolution to show our caring, our respect for our shared humanity, when it isn't a matter of a lost dog or tragic accident? What if, just as a matter of course, throughout our most ordinary of days, we made the effort to give people the benefit of the doubt, to assume people are doing their best (including ourselves!), and to respect them, regardless of whether or not we agree with them?

I know, it's easier to do with lost dogs than it is with co-workers or family, much less strangers who are rude to us or ignore us altogether. But heck, we're still all in this together, and a little bit of respect and consideration goes a long way.

And who knows? Someone may give you some of that respect and consideration when you least expect it, in a most delightful way.

Knorr to Adams, The Leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses

Russell and Rutherford.

The foundation of the Jehovah's Witness organization was laid by Charles Russell and Judge Rutherford.

There will be additions and subtractions and variations and expansions, even contractions, but there it is, the organization formed by man, 1800 plus years after Jesus began His church, claiming like the Mormons and the Muslins and all the rest, to be the very voice of God in the world.

The Presidents that follow will now try to maintain that voice. So far, they have done it.

Nathan Homer Knorr. 1942-1977

What Mr. Knorr lacked in new insights and teachings, he more than made up for in intensity of control. He was from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and joined the "Bible Students" at age 16. He left his Reformed Church and was baptized into the Society in 1923. He then worked his way up in the organization, and was eventually appointed President in 1942, at Rutherford's demise.

His tenure in office, which ended in 1977, saw the expansion of the Watch Tower from 25 to 97 branch offices. The headquarters was likewise enlarged. As was the printing production. People were coming, people were joining. In 1958, a quarter of a million people came to two huge events, during which 7,000 were baptized.

It was a great time for the Witnesses. Onward, upward.

Most of the doctrinal pieces of the Witness fabric were in place, but Knorr did introduce the opposition to blood transfusions that has made the organization stink a bit more in the eyes of many.

Knorr suggested some other changes, such as the cessation, for the most part, of setting dates for this and that.

One of Knorr's strongest claims to a legacy was in the area of organization. It was his idea to have a plurality of elders in the various branches. Also during his reign, the entire leadership function of the Society was vested in a "Governing Body". Knorr and future leaders would not have the sovereign power of a Russell or a Rutherford. Their tasks would become more and more administrative.

Knorr wanted the Witnesses to hold on to the truth they had, and began to restructure the local assembly in such a way that their truths would be guarded. Dis-fellowshipping became the new scourge of the Society. Feared perhaps as the Inquisition of Rome, it was based on a list of rules, some loosely based on Scripture, some not.

The rules created by the leadership, when broken, would bring the poor breaker of the ordinance before a judicial committee formed within the Kingdom Hall. After a trial of sorts, guilty and unrepentant list-breakers were totally banned from the assembly. Also totally banned was any friendship or fellowship being offered to them by any member of that branch. No hello, no goodbye. No welcome. Family members were included in this awful scene. Those who fellowshipped the dis-fellowshipped would be un-fellowshipped as well!

In his later years, Mr. Knorr eased up a bit on this regulation. But his successor reinstated the harshness.

Evidently it worked too well for it to be surrendered.

A new Bible

That for which Mr. Knorr may well be remembered with the most animosity of heart by the Christian is far worse than this fellowshipping policy. It was his actual re-making of the Word of God into the Society's image.

It was clear that the Bible available up until this time provided an easy refutation of all the Witnesses stood for. So a panel of "scholars" was chosen. They are anonymous to this day, though it is probable that the next President, Frederick Franz, was on that committee. Why? He knew some Greek, and some (even less) Hebrew.

Through some twisting and shoving and perverting, the Witnesses were able to take those "hard passages", the ones that disagreed with their stand, and make them fit Witness doctrine. Thus was born the New World Translation. Beware this book! I have a copy of it. It's nearly perfect in most of its translation. But where it is imperfect, it is blasphemously imperfect.

I've noticed it is turning up in hotel rooms and other places. But that's another story. We'll take a very close look at this "translation" as we study the Scriptures later. Most of what we will discuss will be from the New Testament, so let me give you just a sampling of an Old Testament perversion here:

Look at Zechariah 12:10. God is speaking. The Father, right? Let's just say "God." Surely Jesus the Son cannot be talking in the book of Zechariah, can He? The words are "They will look on Me Whom they have pierced." Check every translation you can find. These are the words God spoke. God the Son! In the Old Testament!

Can't have this!

So one translation, after 1900 years of all of us walking in darkness, gets it right, right? (guess which one?) And that one says, "They will look to the One pierced."

Get the idea? Gotta change those embarrassing passages! Thank you Mr. Knorr and your anonymous friends, but no thank you.

1975. The world ends. Again

1960-1966 saw a slow-down of the growth rate of Jehovah's Witnesses. It looks like they needed some attention. They got it in the form of a new date being set. Now I said earlier that generally this practice was abandoned. But someone was "studying" and found that 1975 was to be the beginning of the seventh period of human history. Biblically, one could have said that meant "Millennium" and therefore those same people would be thinking "Armageddon." Sure enough, many Witnesses sold their homes to get ready for 1975, the sure-enough end of the world. Again.

Well, Mr. Knorr, what actually happened in 1975? Let's see. The Vietnam War ended. An Apollo and a Soyuz (Russian) spacecraft linked up in space. Margaret Thatcher became the first woman elected to lead Britain's Conservative Party. Egypt re-opened the Suez Canal after eight years... Hmmm. No Armageddon there. Looks like a pretty peaceful time, actually.

Zounds! Missed it again?

Many Witnesses had witnessed enough of this falseness. They opened their eyes, and left.

In 1977, Mr. Knorr breathed his last, and his position was taken by Frederick William Franz. Let's take a quick look at him.

Frederick William Franz. 1977-1992

The next Watch Tower President, Frederick Franz, the lone "scholar" of the New World Translation (though officially anonymous), hailed from Covington, Kentucky. Born in 1893, he was 84 years old when he took the reins of this powerful cultic machine. But recall, his job was mostly administrative and titular at this point. The "Governing Body" was in charge. He ruled for 15 years and died at age 99.

Much earlier in life, Franz had been a Lutheran, then a Presbyterian. In fact he wanted to be a Presbyterian minister at one time. How far afield his life strayed from its roots, is pretty obvious. Baptized in 1914, he too "worked his way" up into the big machine that Watch Tower had become. Certainly his place on the Bible committee had something to do with his esteem in the group.

Nothing earth-shattering to report here... let's move on.

Milton George Henschel. 1992-2000

Milton Henschel was born in 1920, and died in 2003 at age 82. He was from New Jersey. His baptism into the Society was in 1934, as a young teen. In 1947 he made the claim that he had been "anointed", one of the criteria for being appointed to leadership.

Perhaps one of the ways he wanted to prove his authority from heaven was to come up with a new Witness teaching. It took the form of more opposition to the medical world. This time the gripe was against the transplanting of organs. He made it the law of Witness-land, but by 1980, the Witnesses had abandoned this fight.

Henschel held the Presidency from 1992-2000, when the ruling "Governing Body" separated from the Society's Board of Directors. More political posturing and the Presidency took yet another hit. Mr. Henschel resigned and Mr. Adams soon took his place.

Don Alden Adams. 2000 to present

Born in Oak Park, Illinois, in 1925, Don Adams is the current President of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. Adams comes from the Episcopal faith. He has been the true "insider" of the organization and was the obvious choice to replace Mr. Henschel. It is said he has had little impact beyond the administrative, for reasons cited above. To be on the "Governing Body" is to wield the true power of the Society today.

Word is that that power, though still very real, has lessened its "antagonistic denouncements of the less popular Jehovah's Witnesses distinctives," such as the policies on birthdays and higher education etc.

But the ongoing deceptions of the Watch Tower continue to enslave millions.

Maintaining Positive Professions

Hebrews 4:14 "therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess".

Hebrews 10:23 "let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful".

Have you ever been faced with a challenge where it seems as if you are almost losing your faith in God?

Have you ever felt for one moment that God doesn't really care about your every need because you trusted God for something and it didn't come to pass? Have you allowed bitterness fill your heart towards God because He didn't meet you at your point of need? Have you ever been brought to a place where what you believe about God's word and what you are actually professing are completely two worlds apart?

But in everything you have ever gone through, can you still maintain a positive profession just like Job, who said in Job 13:15 "though he slay me yet will I trust in him... " Your continuous trust and dependence on God even in the place of adversity shows your level of faith in God and your level of maturity in His Word. Solomon made it clear in the book of Proverbs 24:10 "if you give up when trouble comes, it shows that you are weak"

Don't allow your present circumstances to change what you believe and say about God's word for your life. Just because you had a challenge doesn't make God's word void. No! As a believer you stick to the truth of God's word in season and out of season, when the going is smooth and when it is rough, in trials and in tribulation. If God has said it I believe it and if God has not said it then I don't believe it.

Apostle Paul in Romans 1:16 said "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes... " You are what God says you are and that settles it. The truth of God's word concerning you is not a fallacy. To them outside of Jesus it is foolishness but to you it is the dunamis of God unto your well-being, wholeness, and all that you want it to be. So don't allow anyone to talk you out of it. Just like what a man of God said "when you stick to the word you will come back with a testimony".

Have you ever wondered why is it that after some believers must have listened to a message on healing and later on they have an attack on their health and the first thing they are thinking of is how to get drugs. What happened to what the minister just said? To that minister that might be one of the most powerful messages he/ she has preached ever! It is simple; the believer did not mix the word he/she heard with faith (Hebrews 4:2).

A believer who keeps declaring God's healing over his body and someday the devil attacks his health and the next thing he is thinking of is how to get some drugs! This is someone who has been professing the word. What has he been declaring? You see, not until the truth of God's word hits your spirit and you are so lighted up with the word and so convinced in your heart of heart about His word, then and only then can you truly walk in the reality of His word. If not all that you are just doing is mere words without power.

I pray that the eyes of your heart be enlightened to know the things that God has freely given you.

The word of God has never failed and it cannot fail! God's word works! Don't just hear the word, every believer hears the word, but what will distinguish you from others is the practicing of the word. Go beyond hearing the word, do the word every day. (See James 1:22-25). Don't let a day go by without putting the word of God to work. One way to be firm in faith is by continuous practice of the word of God. Hold firmly to the faith you profess, do the word and see the wonders of His word at work in you.

Dignified Architectural Departure in the Big Apple

The Big Apple gentrification blitzkrieg has adversely impacted almost every working class and industrial outer-borough neighborhood with the permanent disappearance of those independently-owned, sometimes quirky and eccentric, establishments whether they were restaurants, cafes, drug stores, tailors, dry cleaners, shoe repair, "butchers, bakers and candlestick makers" because of obscene rent increases. Their replacements are the over-priced, cookie-cutter design, corporate chain stores that appeals to the monied transient conformist lemmings.

Although I suffer severe bouts of profound nostalgia, a sort of New York fado for things lost forever, there is a glimmer of redemption in this destruction. I'm referring specifically to my particular personal haunts such as Florent and Hogs & Heifers in the meat-packing district, when it was a bondafide meat-packing district. Both of which debuted in the 1980s when only the most intrepid souls dared to venture into this verifiable real-life Blade Runner territory.

This same perspective can be applied to another personal classic culinary and architectural gem in the original Empire Diner, the beacon of West Chelsea, located within a half block of the then abandoned High Line. As the ultimate film noir venue with live piano performances serving comfort food at comfort prices, it was located near the nearby edgy independent galleries.

Ironically a deeper tragedy would have taken place if those memorable venues in these neighborhoods had somehow remained among the tectonic urban changes from meat-packing to tourist-packing boutiques, restaurants, bar/lounges, the High Line and the new corporate art temple, the Whitney Museum.

In other words even if the owners could have afforded and maintained the original character, grit, menu and affordable prices, the venues would be nothing more than a pitiful shell of its former self, a pathetic sellout to a new breed of unappreciative customers, trust-fund kids, and corporate types who would crowd-out even frighten the longtime loyal customers.

The entire existence of these venues was to serve as a refuge from corporate conformity and revel in an authentic urban venue which is opposite of the newcomers who want things safe, predictable and worst of all enjoy being told what to like and what to do. The old-timers want edginess, dynamics and independence.
These venues were just a sample of the everyman's and everywoman's fond memories of a bygone era. And luckily they've retained their dignity in their demise unlike the iconic athlete who didn't need the money but embarrassingly hung on far too long with greatly diminished skills that tarnished his reputation.

How to Teach People How to Treat You

Are you bombarded with obnoxious behavior from people in your everyday life. You don't need to suffer in silence for this. Show them how you want to be treated and they will treat you the same. What magic actually lies in here? Read on to find out.

The simple magic is that you treat people in a way you would like to be treated. Treat them with love, compassion, empathy and kindness. Leave them with a gorgeous smile of yours. How can they treat you badly after this? You will soon find the reflection of you in them.

Sometimes it's not you but others who react with anger and rude behavior, without letting you know what it is all about. It then becomes hard to decipher them. Ask them if there is some problem. If they refuse to cooperate, stay aloof and don't pay them attention. It will then be the case that they will be running after you to hold a gentle conversation.

Too many a time, other horrible incidents in people's lives make them behave badly towards you. It totally isn't your fault. In that case say as little as possible and outdistance yourself. You don't need to lose your mind talking to these people under such circumstances. You know they had a hard day. Say something polite and buzz away. And forgive them because they are not themselves at the moment. The next time you meet them, they will be the old good, jolly people and you can pursue a happy, worthy conversation with them.
One important tip I would like to give you is never talk ill of yourself to others. For example, "I don't look good", "I am not a good cook", "I am so stupid", "I am so fat" and the list goes on. People you talk to about you this way actually believe you and they will be repeating the same phrases to you in no short time. I can assure you that you wouldn't like it. But it is you who encouraged them to say such things. Nothing to worry.

Correct yourself, think good about yourself and be kind to yourself and let others know by your actions what a great person you are. You don't need to brag and boast to prove you are worthy. Your daily actions will speak louder than your words.

Another important tip I would like to mention here is that don't ever confide in new friends and acquaintances that you have been treated badly by people in the past. Because they will believe those people and not you and think that you are not worthy of respect and start behaving ill. So it's best to keep your past in the past and not repeat it to anyone in the present good times.

Sometimes it is just a bad rumor set up by somebody spreading all over the complex you live or the office where you work. None of it is true. But how do you handle such a situation? Because it is spreading fast. Just hold on and pray from the core of your heart. Almighty God can fix everything for you. People will want to humiliate you because they get fun from it but almighty God will magnify you in wondrous ways. And then people will have nothing to say other than appreciate you at large.

So rude and ill behavior from people is not uncommon. It has happened to the best of us. Try to control the situation as much as you can and leave the rest to God and trust Him. Keep your own courtesies and behavior well all the time no matter what. God will be pleased and justify the situation for you. There isn't always much to worry, gotcha?

Rosina S Khan has authored this article, highlighting how you can handle rude and unworthy behavior from people.

Therapy: Can Being Loyal To A Technique Hold Someone Back?

If one was in a position where they have just learned to drive, it doesn't mean that they will know what car they want to buy. This can come down to the fact that there are so many car manufactures out there.

What they can do here is to ask their friends and family for their advice when it comes to the car they should go for. One could find that they generally have the same outlook here, or they could all have something different to say.

Another Factor

It is also likely to be necessary for them to find a car that is in line with their budget, and so there might only be a few options available to them. If this is the case, they will have no other choice than to look for cars that fall under a certain price range.

Fortunately, it is not going to be difficult for one to take the next step, and this is because there is going to be plenty of people who can assist them. Regardless of whether they have people around them who can offer their advice, they can go to different garages for more information.

A Process

In the beginning, what they hear from these people might not mean a lot to them but as time goes by, this is likely to gradually begin to change. There is then going to be no reason for them to make a rash decision.

Having said that, it might not take them very long to understand everything and they will soon be able to choose a car. Now, although the kind of car that they are going to buy might be what they need at this point in time, there is the chance that it won't meet their needs as time passes.

A Different Scenario

While it is going to be relatively straight forward for one to take the next step when they need a car (as long as they have enough money), the same can't always be said when it comes to moving on from mental and emotional problems. For one thing, when one is suffering on the inside, they might not even take the next step.

It can be normal for them to put up with what is taking place and to suffer in silence. Therefore, their life is not going to improve, and the people around them might not even realise what they are going through.

Stepping Forward

Yet, if they were to get to the point where they are no longer willing to experience life in this way, they might not know what to do next. Alternatively, they could talk to their friends and family about it.

This could be a time when they say that one should go and see their doctor, or they might suggest some kind of therapy that might help them. There is also the chance that one will go and see their doctor and not talk about what they are going through to anyone they know.

The Internet

At the same time, they might prefer to avoid this route, and this could mean that they will look into what options are available online. If they were to take this route, they might not know where to start.

Still, if they look through the different approaches and take the time to reflect on what they have come across, it might not be long until they have found something they want to try. Therefore, whether they go to see their doctor or look for something themselves, their life might soon begin to change.

Progress

After they have worked with someone for a few sessions, they may find that they start of feel better about themselves. There is also the chance that it will take them a little longer than this.

And as time passes, they might start to see that they have reached a point where they don't feel any different. It is then as if what they are doing is no longer working, and it might then be a good idea for them to try another approach.

Attached

What one can then do is to look for another approach, or they might even feel the need to find another therapist who does the same thing. But although this might be the right thing for them to do, they might not be able to do it.

Through being so caught up with what they are doing, they might not want to try anything else. In the same way that someone can hold onto a jumper that no longer fits them, they can hold onto a form of therapy that has stopped working.

Loyalty

It can then be as if the therapy they are using is part of who they are and, if they were to try something else, they would be being disloyal. They can also have the need to please the therapist that they are working with.
As a result, their own growth is going to be put to one side and it is not going to be possible for them to move forward. Ultimately, it is gong to be important for them to think about why they are having therapy.

Awareness

What is clear is that they are not going to live forever, and this means that it is going to be in their best interest to be loyal to themselves. If a technique or a type of therapy doesn't work, there is going to be no need for them to be loyal.

And as for being loyal to a therapist, there is going to be no reason for this to take place either. If this does occur, it can be a sign that they have regressed to a child and are seeing their therapist as a parental figure.

Always be the jolly, happy person at home or work. At home do all the chores whistling a tune or humming a few lyrics. Your children and spouse will get the infectious spirit immediately. They will be eager to be a part of your chores and responsibilities only because you set a bright example for them by being delightful.
At work, it would be wrong to whistle or hum. But simply be cheerful and have a smiling face while you work and also when you talk to your colleagues. While they are all scratching their heads on how to progress, everything seems to come easy to you and you leave the office happily as well.

Your colleagues will have noticed all of that. Now they want to know your secrets. Simply tell them to take it easy and smile. The solutions are all there inside them. Also the mighty vast resource of internet is an additional asset to help them out. Tell them to be worry-free and proceed.

But things are not always easy even for you. Your spouse may be drastically ill or maybe you had an accident and have to go on crutches around home and at work. You choose to be happy no matter what and carry on with your chores and work, helping out your family and colleagues and they will pick up the infectious enthusiasm from you and get along in their own ways happily and cheerfully.

Isn't this a great way to pass on the contagious joyousness? Why stay subdued and unhappy? Life is not meant to be like that anyway. Keep up your spirits and courage in challenging and difficult times and share your problems with your family, keeping them informed but telling them everything would be okay soon.

Everybody enjoys the company of a person who has a sense of humor, jokes in a standard way and gives a sense of joy to be around. People are attracted to this kind of personality and they would love to emulate you and be like you. That's because every single person on this earth wants to be happy while doing household chores or office work. Give them tips so that they can follow them and they too can be jubilant on the home and work fronts united.

The Future State of Manufacturing

Worldmeters states that the human population will reach 8 billion by 2024, 9 billion by 2040, and they expect it to continue to grow at least until 2050. In order to satisfy the demands of this increase populace every action we take will need to become more efficient. This is especially true in the world of manufacturing.
Lean Manufacturing is a method used to eliminate waste within a process. Assuming a mindset where customers only want to pay for value added work, it becomes essential everything else be removed. One main focus of Lean is to only build the product that is needed ("Just-in-Time" or "JIT") so as to avoid the need for storing finished goods. By doing so manufacturers can reduce their plant size, decrease raw material investments, and run less risk of damaging their finished product.

As our population increases land will become more valuable, forcing manufacturers to practice Lean in order to reduce their operating expense. One major challenge in Lean is that automation is not designed for the changeovers that come with JIT scheduling. This means much of the labor still needs to be done by people. In 2015, the manufacturing industry in the USA alone had 600,000+ unfulfilled jobs, despite having nearly 8 million people unemployed.

This is a current problem, and will continue to grow if the skilled labor deficit issue isn't addressed. Robot manufacturers are aware of this, and have been attempting to make A.I. platforms and rapid teach pads to reduce changeover time. Some are even making their robots have personalities to help blend into the workforce. Robots are a great way to make people more efficient, but they still require a human's involvement. This interaction requires knowledge.

Manufacturing is a very competitive industry. Companies all over the world are continuously working to improve their tactics to shave seconds off their labor. We as consumers demand it. Introducing a fleet of robots is a scary investment when your margins are already tight. In order to take such a risk one must be extremely confident that there will be a return on the investment. The only way to know this is to have accurate data.

The alternative to investing in robots is to focus on the automation of current technology and equipment, as well as processes and tasks traditionally done by support staff. Imagine a workbench opening and closing drawers, handing the operator tools like a surgeon's assistant, the machinery turning on/off to conserve electricity, or autonomous carts that supply needed material and drive away when loaded. We have the technology to do all of this, but there is one element missing: knowing when each action is to be triggered.

In order to fully utilize each of these technological possibilities we need to know what an operator is doing at all times. The best way to do this is by using digital work instructions. If an operator is following a sequential process shown by a computer, the computer would then be able to send the proper signals to the corresponding tools to perform a needed action. If this sounds sophisticated, I assure you it is far easier than you might imagine. Technology has become so readily available and simplified, many high school students that participate in robotics clubs are capable of building the control system to automate a workbench. Again, the only missing component is providing that workbench trigger points to execute an action and digital work instructions could easily be the solution.

If manufacturers transitioned to this type of digital plant they would create more ergonomic work stations and would yield higher quality and productivity. The data collected would provide management understanding of their inefficiencies. This in turn allows them to better plan for investing in automation. We need to embrace this technological shift, and begin implementing it into manufacturing. We already focus on limiting inefficiencies throughout our daily lives. As the global population increases, we need to make sure manufacturing is able to keep up.

Stability, Predictability, Consistency, and Standardization in the Flow of Commerce

The best of all possible worlds is for the government to stay out-of-the-way of commerce, industry and business, and very rarely institute regulations. There are some times when government and businesses, industry associations should collaborate for the sake of standardization, but again, very rarely. The tendency to allow industry collusion, create monopolies, duopolies or quasi-cartels is just too easy. Further, once you create one regulation it's hard to prevent the add-on affect, the temptation is just too great to add exceptions, additions, clarifications as lawyers, unions, and consumer groups work to lobby legislators to intervene with the regulatory apparatus.

A few years back this was a big conversation at our Think Tank, and one think tanker Andrew stated: "I would have to agree that businesses do need some form of standardization, but we must also understand several concepts! A business must have the capability to micromanage for maximum efficiency. I believe states should be granted the power to standardize businesses, not the federal government."

Okay but, where I see the definite need for standardization are with things like Internet Protocols, railway track width, freeways for intrastate travel, airport runway markings, frequencies used in communication, food safety, etc. In a big state like TX you could get away with doing almost everything counter to the overall prevailing way of doing things, it's practically large enough to be its own country, and some Texans would prefer it to be still. Pretty independent minded, even with the population's mindset of succession from the union. It even has its own electrical grid.

Still, with regards to the flow of energy, transportation, distribution, communication, currency, etc. we need standardization. And to the point of having each state decide, what about every county, every city, or every HOA, down to every person, where do you stop the breakdown of centralized standardization.

The argument for state level standardization could be argued against by someone who is a County Supervisor telling the State to go to hell, we want to do it our way, especially a county like the County of Los Angeles, with 16 million people in it, also larger than most countries. How about a city telling the county where to go, again as an example, let's take the City of Los Angeles VS County of Los Angeles, see the point.

And realize I am not making an argument for a global government here, but we also need some standardization there too, for aviation, which we do have, maritime, trade rules, and having the Central Banks work together so no one Central Bank doesn't destroy the entire global economy. See that point. We need SOME standardization, but we MUST retain regional variation. We do this at the Global Level, but we don't do it enough at our Federal Level with regards to the states in the US and that's why we have issues now. Think on this.

Good Monitoring of Investment

The Guts of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement

Senator Bernie Sanders voiced his disagreement to President Obama's big trade deal. Organized labor in the U.S. argued, during the negotiations, that the trade deal would largely benefit corporations at the expense of workers in the manufacturing and service industries. The Economic Policy Institute and the Center for Economic and Policy Research have argued that the TPP could result in job losses and declining wages.
Obama was granted fast-track authority to negotiate this and other trade contracts with various countries. Obama contended that this authority was important to completing the TPP then sending it to Congress for a vote. The Senate won't have the ability to delay the TPP and lawmakers will not be able to change it. Supporters say that the TPP would force China to increase standards and regulations.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership or TPP has become additionally politically combative with groups worried about trade contracts. The TPP is not the only one, but it is a very big one and the negotiations are complete.
It began with a trade contract between Brunei, Chile, New Zealand and Singapore that came into effect in 2006. That arrangement detached tariffs, intellectual property, and trading policies on most goods traded between the countries. The TPP has grown into a giant free trade deal between the US, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Peru. TPP wants to extend economic bonds between these nations, cutting tariffs on goods and services, and raising trade to increase growth. The 12 countries have a population of about 800 million and are accountable for 40% of the world's GDP and 26% of the world's trade. The deal is a notable achievement given the very different approaches and standards within the member countries mention the special protections that some countries have for certain industries. That makes it roughly the same size as the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, another trade contract currently being used. The contract could make a new single marketplace like the EU.

After too many years of American foreign policy being bogged down in the Middle East, the Obama administration is aiming its focus on Asia. The TPP is the focus of the US economic re-balancing and a stage for regional monetary integration. Some say the TPP goes further, as an effort to contain China and provide a monetary counterbalance to it in the area. Many parts of the TPP are designed to exclude China. The TPP is thought to be a strategy to keep China contained.

Most of the disapproval for the TPP has been for the mysterious consultations, in which countries were planning to be bringing in large changes for the countries' futures without voters' knowledge. But much of what has been exposed involves changes to intellectual property, state owned property, and international courts. The TPP, as well as other trade deals, have a wide array of regulatory and legal concerns that make the deals influential on foreign policy and US lawmaking.

Information on the TPP's effect on intellectual property has exposed that the U.S. has been forcing tougher copyright security for music and film, as well as more comprehensive and longer-lasting patents. The TPP would also increase the difficulty of the approval procedure for generic drug makers and extend protections for biologic medicines, which has concerned members of Congress. Public health and internet groups have campaigned hard against the TPP for a long time about these matters because it may restrict public access to knowledge.

Many TPP governments basically own huge portions of their economies. Discussions have intended to limit public support for public sector businesses in order to raise competition with the private sector. But some assert it gives companies the ability to sue governments that change policy to favor public-provided services.

The TPP will is also said to increase competition between nations' work forces.

After World War II, investors were concerned about investing money in 3rd world countries, where the legal systems were not as reliable. They were concerned that an investment is made in country one day only to watch a dictator repossess it later. Enter the provision called "Investor-State Dispute Settlement," or ISDS.

The ISDS was installed in previous trade contracts, and is installed in the TPP, to encourage foreign investment in countries with weak legal systems. The ISDS could lead to huge penalties in the event that steps are taken of a country confiscating corporate assets. The ISDS provision in the TPP would also tip the balance of power in the US further in favor of huge multinational corporations and weaken U.S. autonomy.

2017: A Year of Victory

This is your year victory! Now, you will pass over to that side of victory. Your victory has come. This is marking the end of you weeping, gnashing of teeth, agonizing, tormenting from the enemy. This is marking the end of that mockery. You have stayed too long on that side. Now, rise and go over to the side of victory in Jesus' name! Victory means conquest, triumph, win, success. I see you now crossing over victoriously in Jesus' name! And to begin to cross over also means that you have been some where before now, but the place has been suppressing, holding back, unfavorable, unpleasant or unproductive. But Thank God, your year of changing positions has come. Praise God! Let's go.

Israel was in that terrible situation like you. In Egypt, they were in slavery - suffering and suffocation. They were in a total hopeless captivity with no sign of help or deliverance. But at the appointed time God came for them. They were already resigned to their fate when He suddenly sent a deliverer to them. Yes, God moves suddenly! He comes unexpectedly - mostly when you have given up hope, when people have written you off, when your enemies, oppressors would have started rejoicing over you, then suddenly He would show up. My God! Look at His power coming for you now! Nothing, nobody, no power, no conspiracy, no power of hell can stop this move. You are due and will certainly move to victory, healing, recovery now. All win, all you lost will also be recovered.

When God brought Israel out of Egypt, in one move He displaced and decimated their enemies. He changed their statues, vision and also made them rich. Yes, very rich. We will soon discuss that. Divine deliverance will always come with divine reparation. Israel came out with silver and gold. In fact, the bible said that they 'spoilt the Egyptians'. That is, they stripped, ruined, damaged, devastated and messed them up economically.

They went away with all the gold and silver of Egypt! Praise God! We are not just having our victory, but we will celebrate it with silver and gold. True. One translation says the He brought them out with great wealth. It was immense, enormous, large, and stupendous. Wow! Great wealth indeed!

These are what this new year holds for you if you will believe this message. As Israel's deliverance was hinged on believing on God's message through Moses, your victory will be triggered off by your believe on what you are reading now. As Moses spoke to them, I speak to you today. As He spoke to the king of Egypt, I speak to your pharaoh to release you now! God has sent these words to bring you out of your suffering and slavery. Come out now in Jesus' name! Share this message with others. We will continue next week. Happy New Year!

Let Us Bring Back Small Business By Reducing Regulation From the Bureaucracy

A few years back our think tank was discussing what we needed to do to bring back our economy and the jobs we need in the United States. We addressed the issue of our ultra-slow growth under the Obama Administration and the dismal economic recovery. One of the members of the think thank was busy listening to the in-depth dialogue and stated;

"Let's entertain the idea that both Congress and the president's office are conservative by a great majority. Both government branches could make all of the changes in the world to standardize business as they deem necessary and most efficient. What is to keep an extremely liberal party from taking Congress and the White House, and reversing all of the good the other party did? There isn't really anything as long as there is a majority vote."

She then talked about the 'pendulum of politics' and how one party is in power then the next and how the policies reverse over and over again and how this continues the challenges with uncertainty which slows our economic growth as money, investments and capital sit on the sidelines.

Indeed, this is true, however, shouldn't we all agree that politics can't keep its hands of Free-Enterprise. The Democrats want to hijack the flows of commerce; labor, efficiency, capital, and profits for their special projects, which usually involve buying votes with socialist populist gifts, and the Republicans have allowed themselves to get so deep in crony-capitalism (Democrats also) that they hardly notice they are destroying the efficiencies of choice and free-markets, while they pretend they are doing positive things for our nation.

Basically, both sides are doing good for themselves and their ability to stay in power. Yes, the system is broken, thus, the power should taken back until they all grow up, and start doing what's best for the nation, and serving the people and this great nation and not serving themselves at our expense. But, I digress, because I am not allowed to say that, nor you or we both end up on "watch lists" so yes the system is rotten. Even good people in Washington DC are only good they say for about 18-months, the best of them maybe 36 max, as the system corrupts.

Uncertainty is therefore guaranteed, but some say that the reason that government moves so slow in the bureaucracy is because it was designed that way to protect the people from it moving too fast in one direction which is dangerous to all, including the businesses, even the future of the country's stability, which is extremely important in complex systems.

5 Great Horror Anthology Movies

Looking for some good horror anthology movies other than the Amicus ones? Well, here are five you might like to check out:

Dead of Night (1945) - This black-and-white masterpiece was the first real horror portmanteau movie. Martin Scorsese once described it as "the granddaddy of all horror anthology films." The Ealing Studios production certainly has some real creepy moments, and in the tradition of all good horror portmanteau flicks, it has an excellent framing story concerning an architect (Mervyn Johns) who arrives for an appointment at a house he's never visited before. However, it's not long before he realises he has vivid recollections of the place and all the people gathered in it from a dream. Then, one by one, each guest relates their own strange experience, as an oppressive sense of impending doom grows in the house. Among the tales told are "Golfing Story" and "The Haunted Mirror" (which features the lovely Googie Withers). But the story that really stands out in Dead of Night is "The Ventriloquist's Dummy", in which Michael Redgrave plays a performer who is terrorised by his wooden partner.

Black Sabbath (1963) - No, not the group, but the movie. Starring the Master of Horror himself, Boris Karloff, as the framing-story narrator (as well as appearing in one of the tales himself as a Russian vampire), this portmanteau classic brings you three stories: "The Telephone," "The Wurdalak," and "The Drop of Water." The English language version of the movie differs somewhat from the Italian one, although both versions are extremely effective Gothic chillers.

Trilogy of Terror (1975) - This is the made-for-television movie that is especially noted for its story "Amelia," in which Karen Black is terrorised by a malevolent fetish Zuni doll. Produced by Dan Curtis and based on a trio of short stories by Richard Matheson, Trilogy of Terror is an extremely entertaining, fun film, and if you ever manage to come across a copy on DVD - especially the Special Edition one released by MPI Home Video - I would highly recommend that you snap it up for your collection, as it is well worth having. A sequel, Trilogy of Terror 2, was released in 1996, in which the crazed Zuni doll returns in the story "He Who Kills,", this time to terrorise a young female doctor.

Trick 'r Treat (2007) - The ideal horror anthology to watch on Halloween night, as its title seems to suggest. Bearing some similarities to Stephen King's Creepshow in its comic book credits, this movie was initially planned for a theatre release by Warner Brothers for Halloween 2007, but this fell through and so the film just went straight to DVD in 2009. A highlight of the movie is the story starring True Blood actress Anna Paquin, who plays a virginal Red Riding Hood-turned-supernatural-being. The busload of severely disturbed kids and Dylan Baker as a sinister school principal are other memorable, creepy segments. The four stories are tied together by a mysterious child trick-or-treater called Sam, who wears shabby orange pyjamas with a burlap sack over his head. This entity shows up in all the stories whenever someone flouts Halloween traditions. Over the years, Trick 'r Treat has amassed quite a cult following.

Grave Tales (2011) - In the tradition of the old British Amicus movies, Grave Tales is a great little portmanteau film which, the instant I saw it, I just HAD to add to my DVD collection. Quite a difficult movie to fin, Grave Tales stars Brian Murphy (who played George Roper in Man About The House and George and Mildred) as an old gravedigger who's eager to share creepy stories with a visiting genealogist (Heather Darcy), each of which relates to a certain grave in the cemetery. There are four stories in all - "One Man's Meat," "Callistro's Mirror," "The Hand," and "Dead Kittens." - and they are all brilliant. The late, great Christopher Lee actually starred in the original theatre release, but does not appear in the DVD release.
